Has anyone heard of shirtaki noodles?
Hi, just wondering if anyone has heard of shirataki noodles. They are japanese noodles made of yam flour. It is basically pure fiber. Therefore, has almost zero calories and zero net carbs....I was doing some research on it...and it also has also has alot of good health benefits. I was wondering if I can include this in my keto diet...to break the monotony at times...
Here is link with some info...

Don't get too fond of it. Even the American Heart Association is reversing its position on soy and admitting that it might not be that good for you after all, even if you are menopausal woman suffering from hot flushes!
Countries which eat a lot of soy have slightly lower rates of heart disease, but much higher rates of cancer.

It's funny, because I used to be VERY anti soy... but Now I'm starting to think that some of the red flags (like estrogen increase in men) are being blown out of proportion. I have met many vegetarians who's primary source of protein/food in general is soy, and they are in great health for a non bodybuilder.

I am not an expert on keto but i eat them frequently when i am cutting. I do low carb but not keto so i dont know how it would effect a ketogenic diet. I just dont 100% trust the net carb conception. The one i buy however is 0 cals and 0 carbs yet it has 90% DV of calcium per serving

You can also find it at your local asian grocery. I got some the other day. It comes in clear bag filled with liquid. The liquid smells funny but as long as your rinse out the noodles it's ok. The noodles itself is tastless, clear, and the texture itself is kinda different...
I made asain style fried noodles with soy sauce etc and it tasted pretty good! It's definitly something to try

Basically any kind of ground meat (beef, pork, lamb, turkey) cooked on a pan, then add stock (boil up chicken bones for the best one) until you have the consistancy you want. Add whatever your fancy to make the sauce you want. A small amount of tinned tomatoes or even low carb pasta sauce, plus plenty of oregano and olives for Italian sauces, paprika for Hungarian, chili for Thai/Asian, garlic and wine for French etc. You can also add in plenty of mushrooms, celery etc to bulk it up.

Chimp...i guess u have a point...i don't know why but there are days i need something other than veggies....and since these noodles are almost pure fiber, it really fills you up for only a small amount. It keeps me sane I guess.

Nothing "so hard" about it, but if there's a way to make it easier without sacrificing anything, why avoid it ?

Maybe its just because I don't trust anything processed on keto. Companies have a nasty habit of hiding fact to make things sell, sugar alcohols anyone?

It's not great, but you'd get away with a few drop, until you can find a better seasoning.

It's got lots, but if you keep the amount small enough, it shouldn't be a problem.

I've never made it, and don't even had a recipe for it, but I'd imagine that a mixture of dry seasoning and spices, maybe some chili or Tabasco, would do the job. It really depends on how much you plan to use, relative to the calories of the food.
