    Keep in mind that power cleans (and similar olympic-esque lifts) focus on the development of power, and the rapid application of that power using near-perfect technique. This is the main reason that these lifts are included in many sports training programs - because the rapid application of controlled power is of high importance in good sports training (football, track and field, basketball, olympic weightlifting, etc).
