    L-Glutamine Dosage?

    How much shall i take post workout ?
    is 10 gram too much ?


    intrsuctions on the bottle :
    10g first 7 days
    then
    20grams for 7-47 days
    then
    2 weeks off

    then cycle again


    please advice me.

    I wouldnt say too much but 5 grams at different times a day on an empty stomach is the best.

    IMO, 10g is good, I don't thing you need to cycle glutamine.

    5g when you first wake up

    5g before workout.

    Well, I never really heard of "cycling" glutamine. You get a decent supply of it in most whey-based protein drinks, but to get yourself the full benefits, you may want to take more.

    I never take it on an empty stomach by itself, I always add it to my shakes. I take an extra 10-20g per shake twice a day. An extra 20g a day should be good, but if you can afford it, 40g per day should give you much better results.

    It's not a "miracle supplement", but if you are consistent with it and your diet and training, you should notice a difference.

    I have used up to 50 grams of L-glutamine a day for four weeks and let me tell you I did not notice a thing. I think L-glutamine is a waste of money. T-mag even has an article called "Glutamine: Destroying The Dogma" that sites studies that prove that glutamine bites the big one. I recomend checking it out.

    Honestly, I've been pretty happy with the supplement myself, always got better gains when I took it with creatine than creatine alone.

    Where could I get a copy of that article? Haven't heard of T-Mag before.

    Oh wow, was that on the internet? is there a link? I always eat stuff anyways just because I have read that the insulin will help the transportaion of the protien to the muscles, otherwise you just piss most of it out.

    I take 5 grams around lunchtime and then 5 after I workout, this is in addition to what is in my protein powder/weight gainer...this is during a normal/bulking period...during a cutting period I will up it to two 10 gram doses.

    I don't know about mild strokes, but the stomach needs a lot of glutamine to survive. If you take 5g on an empty stomach, chances are your stomach will use it to start building a new stomach lining. You're best off taking it with something else, preferably in dosages around 10g at a serving instead of 5g.

    Where did you find a study on mini-strokes?

    You might want to boost it up during your bulking periods too. It would be good around cutting time too, I'm glad I never cut ever. I would hate that. Powerlifting rules.

    yeah i go with 5 grams post-workout and before bed. looks like most people agree with 10 grams.

    taking a larger amount really can't hurt you, but won't really do anything for you. too much can make you have indigestion.

    and to the 50 gram a day person: supplements AREN'T LINEAR. many of them are based around the idea of giving your body nutrients it might be deficient in (glutamine, zma, protein, cla, bcaas, multis....) others are things your body doesn't require, and usually you don't want to take too much of these - taking twice the amount of 1ad yields more negative benefits but little added positive ones. likewise, if you are taking 30 grams of creatine a day - or 50 grams of glutamine - you are wasting your money. that doesn't mean they don't work when taken at the right amount, though. the only problem with glutamine is you might be getting enough from other sources - but i think that's generally not the case. but that's why many people recommend it for cutting only.
