L-Arginine vs. Arginine HCL vs. Arginine AKG

I have noticed that all Nitric Oxide products are made up of one of these three Amino Acids (L-Arginine, Arginine Alpha-Ketoglutarate (A-AKG), or Arginine HCl).

Could someone explain the difference between the three and which is the best/most absorption. Thanks.

I am debating which one to get (the prices are different among the 3):

    Arginine Alpha-Ketoglutarate (A-AKG)

    L-Arginine HCl

The order that you listed them is the order of effectiveness, but the best way to take arginine is with citrulline malate. Check out this bb.com link:
    http://www.bodybuilding.com/store/cit.html

If you're looking for an NO product make sure it has CM in there. Most likely it will also have akg. If you're looking for a creatine as well you could check out SNS CVM Extreme. Its NO and creatine ingredients are impressive.

Only 2 good sources of Citrulline Malate I know of are in Body Octane and in bulk.

L-arginine (base) tast really bad but is 100% arginine. Looks like salt you put on the ground.

L-arginine HCL taste not as bad, I think its about 83% L-arginine, clumps easy

L-arginine AKG is 1:1 or 2:1 arginine to AKG, its stored in the body longer than the others and works better for pumps than base or HCL but doesnt provide the gh releasing effects of hcl or base because its carried to the muscle by AKG.

You want a good a-akg get Higher power brand in powder.

You should read those write ups on ingredients on the main bb.com page.

they are different. CEE is for strength and power, Di M, A-AKG is for pumps, C. Malate is for endurance.

While there is no comprehensive pharmacokinetic data, I would _speculate_ that A-AKG is the best form.

Given the nature of it's composition and how it absorbs, wouldn't L-Arginine Ethyl Ester be superior to any of the previous mentioned n.oxide forms: ( L-Arginine, L-Arginine HCI, Di-Arginine Malate, L-Arginine AKG) ?

    Great post, btw!
