Lou Ferrigno
Alright guy, I know he lost some size from the old days, but you got to admit he's still in great shape for a guy in his late 50's. Just wanted to show that bodybuilding helps you stay young and that people young and old can get inspiration from this.

I know, but I don't see why. I think maybe people are cheapskates and get mad for him chargin 20 dollars for something. Come on the guy is a legend. Besides, celebrities get all sorts of stuff for free and I don't see people that quit seeing movies because of it.

i think most people's problem is that he shouldn't charge to take a picture with you. buying a signed photo is one thing, but refusing to be photographed is pretty crappy.
i've never met him, so i can't comment personally.

Lou's the cheapskate that's why he charges. He also waited until his dad died to sue his brother for using the family name.

I'm a fan of Lou, but its not that he charges you to take a picture with him... he just won't take one unless you buy one of his first. I know he's trying to make a buck and all, but to refuse to let a fan take a pic without buying one first isn't the greatest PR.

You're right about not being good PR. However, I wouldn't know about that experience probably because I bought one of his pictures and a book first so he could autograph them as I did not have anything for him to autograph before I got there.

Lou is a terd. He only acknowledges your existence if you drop a 20. He would be a nobody if it weren't for pumping iron

Maybe for you pal. I don't know if you personally met the guy, but I did and he isn't half as bad as people make him out to be. Like I said earlier, there are big actors that are a lot bigger jerks and they cry until they get everything for free(which equates to a lot more money), but for some reasons you don't see people boycotting the theatre.

big actors don't treat their fans like that...maybe if you catch them on a bad day, but not consistently. If you take a picture of him (not with him) he tries to make you delete it. Of course you had a nice experience cuz u dropped the money so he kissed your ass. Maybe u can become good friends with him so he can turn around and sue u like he did to his brother.

I'm sure he's nice as can be when you're spending money. I think that does qualify someone as a fake/jerk when they wouldn't give you the time of day otherwise.
Those actors want free **** from studios and at awards shows, where money flows like wine. It's something else altogether if they want to milk the average fan for his pocket change. It's one thing to pay for a movie ticket/book/product, but an autograph or a photo with your camera? WTF does that cost him?

The thing is that heaps of other pros (yes even when they have stuff to sell) will still take a photo with a fan, even if the fan hasnt bought anything from them. So IMO thats the big difference that people find

He guest posed at a show I attended about ten years ago. It was when he was making a comback to Mr. O. He was a monster at 8 weeks out. Standing at 315, he was sitting in two folding chairs while signing autographs in the lobby. Once on stage, the place erupted after a few minute posing routine by Lou. After he finished he stepped stage-right to the podium. Because he was a whole two heads taller than the MC he had to adjust the microphore by tilting it up to speak to the audience. As he grasp the mic holder to do so he ripped the whole thing off the podium and just looked at it as if he plucked a dandelion. Once again, the place went nuts.
Just thought I'd share that with you. That event always stuck in my mind about Big Lou.
EDIT : He wasn't charging for autographs at the time. I never asked one of him. I find I do not get star struck like that.

strong bump
but anyways, so he's a little stricter about who he'll take photos with, whatever.
Anyways, at the event I was at, he was taking pictures with everyone, even if they didn't buy anything from him.

Well he's had issues in the past with people stealin his money and stuff, and had to get into a legal battle with the whole Hulk TV series thing just so he could get royalties for it (they weren't going to give him anything originally), so I can see how that'd make someone fight to get everything they feel is owed to them.

this is gold...
but yes lou may have had reasons for the 20 dollar charge maybe if he didnt have it he would get swamped by people, or perhaps he is really strapped for cash these days... maybe he doesnt get paid well for appearances..
all considered it's a public relations nightmare of a disaster.
there are better ways for him to make money, if he was polite and asked every individual if they wanted a signed poster of him for 20 dollars then im very sure he would have made more money than the 20 dolla per photo thing

At the end of the day, its up to Lou if he wants to charge $20, its chicken feed for a signed photo of a legend IMO and i would pay him $20 for a signed photo, NP.
I think he is a character myself and im glad he is that way.
