    Casein protein leads to cancer?

    Casein protein was found to promote cancer in the controlled animal studies which Campbell administered. However, further research results, particularly those of the China Study, have shown there to be a remarkable link between animal protein in general and many different diseases not just cancer alone.

    I looked at this website http://www.ezhealthydiet.com/casein-protein.html and found the above information. What do you guys know about this?

    Wow... a study where they gave animals, (not humans), way too much protein at once without any vegetable anti-oxidants led to cancer... wow... imagine that.

    Sorry for my sarcasm, but the site that the article is posted on is obviously on a pro-vegetarian agenda, and like any campaign that uses spin, it is picking and choosing what to say... not giving all the facts or the big picture. Eat balanced meals including both veggies and meats and you will be fine... eating nothing but casein powder in triple serving sizes for years and nothing else and don't be surprised if you get cancer. Eat a single type of vegetable in triple serving sizes for years and nothing else and don't be surprised if you get sick as well.

    Just a thought, (that's right... I thought something on my own and didn't rely on a "study" or trend, or what someone else told me to think), there are studies and stats that prove everything can kill you... use common sense.

    (wow, I am an angry poster when I miss some workouts from business trips... no offense to the OP... I like this post and discussion)

    I haven't read the study cited but this appears to be a case of taking a study out of context. The website is obviously promoting veganism. They end up alternating references to casein with 'animal protein' and then give a big thumbs up to soy protein.

    I'm a vegetarian (not strict) and sympathetic to the cause of animal rights, but I don't believe in misrepresenting and stretching the truth to promote an agenda of any kind. Give people the straight facts and let them decide for themselves. I'm sticking with casein and I seriously doubt using it will do any harm whatsoever.

    as to harm, one thing always is to consider the source. a lot of folks produce casein very cheaply - so checking if your company follows GMP, is certified, doesn't put any crap or hormones (that are cheaper to produce for effect) into the stuff is stating the obvious but some folks don't know about crap practices of some sup. companies.

    colon cancer/chemo patient

    I have heard from a couple of people that Casein feeds cancer cells. It's extremely interesting to me because after using casein over a year or so.. I was diagnosed with colon cancer and am currently going through chemotherapy. Me being one of the healthiest people I knew at the time, I was shocked to find out I had a type of cancer that DOES NOT run in my family. I do believe that cancer cells are already in the body and it just depends on if they choose to show themselves.. I also think that things we put in our body encourage that process.

    Why haven't we evolved to not get cancer? Cancer is mostly a post-child bearing disease so it avoids natural selection pretty well.

CLA has been involved in studies which have shown that there are anti cancer properties in the popular fat loss supplement.
