    Why shouldn't I have calcium with ZMA?

    My bottle of ZMA says I should avoid having calcium in my stomach when I consume the ZMA.

    Can anybody explain why that is?

    calcium competes with one of the minerals (pretty sure it's zinc) for absorbtion and, in layman's terms, calcium wins

    Nah, You're right about the absorbtion, but I think it's magenesium, not zinc, that competes for absorbtion. They basically control the amount of calcium in your bones by counteracting each other I think. I read this a long long time ago though, so you may be right.

    Calcium uses magnesium and zinc to be assimilated into the bone. If you take ZMA with calcium it will be robbed and used for purposes other than Test and IGF-1 production.
