    Creatine and Apple Juice?

    Everything I read mentions to take creatine with a non-acidic juice, and usually menitons grape juice. Would apple juice be a good substitute? I only ask because we always have apple juice in the house already because my daughter drinks it.

    it has to do with the absorption. you can also try this: take your post wo shake in water (with the creatine) and then eat a banana or a couple slices of white bread.

    I remember hearing that you should take it with fructose but you should take it with dextrose.

    creatine monohydrate is good to take with grape or maybe gatorade so you cover your sugars. ^ gatorade works well because it has fructosei think. creatine in milk would be ok however the taste my not be your favorite. with my whey i just like water and whey in a shaker. its quick and easy.

    I have tried it with apple juice but I prefer grape my self. Pretty much either one will work great. Also try it in your protien shake.

    oh so you wanna take it wth fructose? Or does it just not matter what type of carbs it is? I see you take whey with water post workout, could it work with milk too? Or does milk really slow the digestion of the whey and you need it digested quickly?

    whey is normally digested really fast no matter what liquid you put it into. i take it with gatorade or cranberry juice or whatever i have on hand at the moment that has sugars and carbs. yes whey is fine with milk in fact some people like it better but it gives me the worst protien farts you could imagine!
    i dont need much maybe 8oz of gatorade and im good because you take it for the sugars and carbs but the ones you dont burn off come back to bite you.

    Basically, after reading one of the articles on bb.com here (below), I'm just going to throw it in my post workout shake (protein, orange juice, oat flour) and not worry about the citrus affecting it. I chug the thing down within a few minutes anyways. On non workout days, I'll just throw it in whatever.

    My best results are using Monohydrate + Orange Juice.
    Just don;t let it sit for 15min or more before you drink it. I always drink it immediately after preparing it and it's never been a problem.

    Ok, relax, breeeeeathe. I think your confusing yourself.

    Think of it this way: Why are you consuming the sugars? To get an insulin spike. Why get an insulin spike? Things like creatine and protein can 'piggyback' this reaction and be delivered to the muscle. So, yes, you want your creatine, protein, and dextrose all at the same time.

    lol. you want to consume foods high on the glycemic index with protein/creatine. fructose is low. however some fruits are higher than others because of higher glucose. read the first post of the link which was posted

    the reasoning behind the non-acidic is that many studies have shown that the acid turns the creatine into creatnine a byproduct of creatine. ive seen studies saying it happens after 15 minutes ive seen studies saying it happens in 8 seconds or so. I dont suggest mixing it with acidic juices at all, but thats just me.

    You can avoid the 30 seconds in apple juice, but then you're looking at 30 minutes in stomach acid.
