    bench vs row

so i have a problem. i can row more than i can bench. i've seen all these ratios of how much more your supposed to be able to bench than row. i know ratios are pointless but am i broken? im thinking theres got to be more to it than form on my bench thats keeping me down. :-/ not to say my form is wrong, because its been checked by alot of experienced lifters but i may just be not doing it the most efficient way.

too right, and you should physically be able to row more than you bench anyway, your back is a lot bigger and stronger than your chest.

I'd disagree with that, the only muscle that rows use effectively are your rhomboids which aren't as big as your pecs. The other muscles used such as the lats, biceps, traps to a lesser extent, aren't really used to their full potential.

I'd say the correlation between bench press and chins would be closer.

rhomboids are just a little muscle that lies beneth your trapezius, your middle and lower traps are what dominates the pulling, and we all know how strong traps are. Most ppl just bench more coz they focus more on benching than rowing, 99.9% of lifters are guilty of this

I'd get more satisfaction rowing 300lbs than benching it, put it that way.
