    Rep suggestion to lose weight/fat

    Hello,

I began working out recently to lose weight and i was wondering when doing my weight training session of working out is it best to do higher reps say 10x4 or 8x4 in order to lose fat and look more defined/lean or doing the high weight low reps like the notorious 5x5. I have heard that muscle gain burns fat yes but is it better to do so with 10x4/8x4 or 5x5. I also do 30-45min cardio after my weight workout.

    Thanks for any help

I can do you one better. You could just cut your macros add a little cardio and continue lifting as usual. You could also try this routine http://www.t-nation.com/readTopic.do?id=795366. Both work for me. Find what works best for you.

fat loss is cardio and diet. keep lifting how you would while bulking, but use a caloric deficit and begin doing cardio. the whole 'high reps for fat loss' thing is a myth.

+1 for 10x3 routine. Im currently using a waterbury variaton of this routine, spread out so I lift every other day. I do sprints on my 'off days'. A good diet program to go with it is their T-Dawg 2.0
