I like to sweat...

What are the benefits of wearing a jacket or sweater while doing cardio? I assumed it was for water weight loss, but I've been seeing a few girls do this quite often.

it'll make you sweat more and lose water weight (and make you feel uncomfortable), no matter how many girls might be doing it.
never heard of any other 'benefit'.

Great if you're running in the snow. Help keep you from going hypothermic. Otherwise, they're trying to sweat more, which, in my humble opinion, is silly. Dehydration of as little as 1% of total water levels can contribute to a 25% reduction in performance. Your body needs as much water as it can to perform every function needed to survive. Water is the universal medium that all of your cells need to function properly. Love your water, waste as little as possible.

This coming from a guy who's had heat exhaustion before. Trust me, you don't want it. And it happens easier than you think. I was fine when I went to sleep one night, woke up with heat exhaustion, curled up on the floor and went into spasms until a buddy found me and forced a quart of water down my throat. Cause? Too much sweating earlier, not enough water during the day.

Love your water.

Red face

Sorry I am a guy and accidentally wondered in here. I wear them all them all the time. Not sure about a female though. feels really good to sweat, just make sure to drink a lot of water. It will make your skin really soft though, but its the most amazing feeling.
