    Rockclimbing

as far as a job that supports lifting and being big as a lifestyle, i plan on being an adventure tourism operator, mainly focusing on rock climbing. i am studying tourism at university now to do this. over the last few years ive become quite the climber and for months after i started i always got very sore forearms from the efoort it takes to climb some gradings. the veins came out like they were going to explode and i found a general boost in strength from using the whole body to climb. its a great activity and does wonders for the body, for those who have never tried it, i'd say get to it, amazing activity

You might be climbing wrong, your feet/legs should be doing most of the work and not your arms.

I dont know if you've ever taken lessons but I had a friend who was a instructor. When I was getting sore arms thats what he told me.

And yep I agree, its fun as hell. I like the outdoor climbing and bouldering but right now im stuck in the ****ty south.

lessons? i'm a qualified instructor. I climb 2 or 3 times a week a lot of time, as i'm part of a club.

and yeah, you do mostly use your legs. but on the harder grades, like 30 upwards, you end up with less and less holds and become in harder positions.

the first few times i found my forearms to get sore due to the effort exerted and was climbing for 6 hours on those days, but just in general it is good for your body and not a real expensive activity if you go a an indoor wall or something. do to being part of a university climbing club, it is free gear and locations and other qualified people are also around, so makes it a piece of cake for everyone. i'm planning on doing that for my career after i finish uni, will go overseas to europe or something for half a year and in australia over summer, figure that'll work.

    great activity though
