quick question:
is it a good idea to eat meat (like chicken, beef, steak, etc.) 30mins-1 hour before a workout? i workout at night, by the way..

Agreed. The last thing you want is to tax your body's energy needs further by exercising with food in your stomach. The body will be rushing blood to the stomach for digestion while trying to rush blood to the muscles at the same time. I see cramps in your future and a loss of energy. Your workouts will suffer as a result.
