How many calories do you eat ?
I'm just wondering if I'm too greedy : please take one minute to answer that simple question : how many calories a day do you eat ? I have around 2250 and fear it's too much, even if I suppose that my metabolism must be high, lifting 5 days a week.
So just tell me, I'll be able to know if I overindulge !

Female !
Well, I've got a six pack, big delts...but I'm still a woman (I gave birth once !) Does your question mean 2250 cal. are far too much for a woman ? You worry me ! I'm tall 5'8", and slim 125 lbs, but train or walk an average 2.5 hours a day, including pumping iron.I am to bulk upper body and cut lower body, just like most of us !

We just have had a lot of teenage boys post stuff about nutrition and lifting and not realize they were in the female bodybuilding section. If you're wanting to gain weight being 5'8" and only 125, 2200 cals would probably do it. I definately think especially you need to gain weight in the muscle area. But post you're daily nutrition and we all can help you a little better

A sample of my diet
Today I had to eat :
7.30 Oats, skimmed milk, orange juice, 1 cracker with peanut butter = 440 calories, 69 grams from carbs, 21 grams from prots.
I don't mention fat in my diet, I don't like what is fat so I avoid it (I just add flax and peanut butter)
10.00 6 slices of wheatgerm bread, 3 slices of turkey breast, 3 tsp
cranberry sauce, 2 clementines = 531 cal, 96.5 gcarb, 15 gprot
12.30 Salmon, muesli with flax and milk = 364.5 cal, 38 gcarb, 19 gprot
16.00 Cottage cheese, Clémentines, 1 apple = 255.5 cal, 46.5 gcarb, 17 gprot
19.00Carrot paté, 2 crackers, tomato soup, green salad = 319 cal, 29 gcarb, 6 gprot
22.00 Cottage cheese = 120 cal, 15 gcarb, 15 gprot
With 2 liters of water of course !
Total 2030 calories, 294 grams carbs, 93 grams proteins.
Not too greedy today ! I had my workout between 13.00 and 15.00 (ooops, I mean 1 to 3...french habits !), it was a light workout (legs, I lift light on my legs days, unlike my upper body days, when I lift heavy and eat more... i have cardio everyday in addition to weights). So, am I too greedy or just sensible ?

Val......calories are fine. You might want to increase the protein and decrease the carb intake. And working out for 2.5 hours a day?? WHOA.....cut down girl.

Thanks for the advices. Well Trish, I'm ok for carbs/prots adjustments, but cut down time spent in the gym, no way, I love that so much....ah, lifting weights ! Nirvana ! I try not to hit the gym every day, and have big walks instead (2hours with hills). I'm going on vacations, and will be away from the gym for a while, not that bad probably !

Why afraid of fat?
Why are you afraid of fat?
I'm on a ketodiet myself and while I was a bit afraid about all that fat, I'm now entirely convinced this is the way to eat as I feel much better now. Especially the condition of my skin improved.. it is no longer dry.
Our bodies do NOT need carbs, they can make carbs very well themselves.. but they DO need fats, essential fatty acids to make hormones and cholesterol. Cholesterol isn't bad at all, it is a very important, essential fat.
So, don't exclude fats from your diet.. just exclude the trans fatty acids and most of your carbs..
Unless you're bulking of course, then it's quite OK to add extra carbs as they are easily ingested and you put on a lot of extra weight that way, at least that's what I did.. and being a semi-vegetarian made sure that I added mostly fat and not enough muscle..
