On my little league team there are kids ages 13-15. We play 10 games a year. Is it possible to determine a good batting average for this age group?

Well, considering the fact that more errors tend to be made in little league baseball than in high school and up, people who are not that great of hitters still manage to get on base. Thus their batting average will be higher than it really should be; know what I mean?Originally Posted by rottengazebo
Therefore a "good" batting average in little league would have to be slightly higher than what is considered "good" in high school baseball and up. So since a "good" average in high school would be around .300, a good average in little league might be .315 or so.

On little league teams I have played on in the past the best players have normally hit over .400

.300!?! This sounds extremely low to me. Jeter hit like .577 in high school and that would probably equal out to around .700 in my league. Is there any way to find other MLB players little league and high school stats?

15 year olds playing 10 games a year? to be playing in that few games 300 is pretty good.
