I do my best to stick to a clean diet, cutting out all junk food and beer but I usually end up breaking it once a week, and if I break it I BREAK it. For example I workout and eat well all week but I sometimes have a lapse at the weekend and seem unable to control myself if I do, which might be drinking 2 or 3 cans of coke, a couple of bars of chocolate or slices of cake. How much damage is this doing to my progress?

beginning a new diet for the first time is really hard, but give yourself a cheat meal (where you try to eat whatever you like, clean as possible, ) once a week....it's all good if you're not competing like that guy above me said.... once you're done with your regular coke try buying diet coke...and replace any full fat versi0ns to lower fat or subsitite many of your junky food for a cleaner food....i myself eat junk foods, but not often like before...good luck

Finally, someone with a similar positive outlook on keeping yourself mentally sane.
Cheating, in my eyes isnt what sets you back...it's the regret that people force on themselfs afterwards which is what REALLY sets you back. Spiritually and physically.
So enjoy your cheats and remember. Those 300 pounders you see at the fast food joints didnt get that way from just a couple meals a week there. It took them years.

Every sunday I'm not home at all. I'm out with friends at the beach or just anywhere. We sually have fast food which sucks. I get the Tendergrill Chicken Sandwich from BK. Its as healthy as you can get in a fast food place. We used to go to seafood restaurants but after about 5 times, we figured at $25 a plate its not worth it.

I also agree with the above posters. IO usually plan cheat meals and it keeps me more on track. Like, I can't wait for that pizza saturday night, etc. It's easier to stay on track if you have something to look forward to. As for the cheat meal itself, if nothing else it will give your metabolism a kick in the ass and keep your body guessing. Don't stress over it, even if you have a bad day or weekend. It won't hurt you.
