Training experience (as much detail as possible.. TELL US ABOUT YOURSELF ! ! WHY should we choose you ! !):
All of it started in when I was a sophomore in highschool but I lacked consistency and knowledge for the first couple years. Totally, it's been about 7 years since I've been hitting the gym. Yet, most of my gains came from since I joined bb.com. I've tried various types of workouts in the past (DC, OVT, 5x5, HST, Max-OT, etc) and still trying to compose the best workout for me. I've gained about +30lbs this year and currently, my gains average out to be 1lb per week on the bulk to 210-220lbs. Now, I need some extra kick in the butt in the iron playground.
Current Training Schedule / Protocol (as much detail as possible):
Starting a modified 5X5 routine this week... Keeping it simple and real!

ANY and ALL Prescription / Non-Prescription / Recreational drugs:None
Supplement history (as much detail as possible): I have tried numerous brands of whey protein, casein protein and blands from ON, Twinlab, Syntrax, Cytosports, ErgoPharm and etc. Creatine wise, I have tried most of the types there are out on the market which includes creatine monohydrate, CEE, Kre, Magnesium Creatine Chelate and Tricreatine Malate. For vitamins I've tried AST 32x, Centrum, and NOW Adam. Tried few stims such as AMP and StimX. Also, I've used bulk powders such as BCAA, CM, Taurine, Leucine and etc. Lastly, NO products I've tried so far are MRI NO2, White Blood, Superpump250, Storm, Shock Therapy, and Nitrix. My current staples are protein, fishoil, vitamin, dextrose, maltodextrose, creatine and cissus.

Name: Joseph Ward (aka HybridX)
Age: 29 (01/18/1977)
Sex: Male
Height: 5'9"
Weight: 206.0 lbs
Bodytype: Endo-Meso ~25% BF (Measured on Home Electronic Scale)
Training Experience
___Background___- Began training in 1998 at age 21. Trained M-F for 3 Months with Splits. Gained 10 lbs of lean muscle mass with a starting weight of approx. 160 lbs. Showed considerable progress. Natural ability to build muscle easily. Did cardio 3/5 training days on stationary bike.
- Stopped training to join boxing. Lost some weight due to cardio. Ceased boxing after 3 Months.
- During the next several years until present I trained intermittently with several long term training periods resulting in significant gains in lean body mass and strength. I rose from 160 lbs. to as high as a lean 200 lbs at my peak. Strength rose in all areas. Bench press went from approx. 95 lbs. to a max of 285 lbs.
- There were two periods of approx. 6-8 months each that I ceased training completely, losing strength and gaining fat mass. I ended the last lapse on January 18th and have been training dedicated with a whole new level of committment. Bodybuilding is now a central component of my life style.
- Supplements used at various times include whey protein & creatine. I also took an ephedrine based product for weight loss while it was still being legally distributed. No steriod, pro-hormone, or GH, etc. use at any time.
___Present & Future___- I am now training fulltime as a lifestyle. I am attempting to improve on all aspects of the sport.
- I log all of my workouts to ensure that I push myself to progress in either weight lifted and/or reps completed for each exercise based on previous training day records.
- I take a scientific approach to my training, with daily body weight/fat percentage calculations, and frequent photographs to track my progressions.
- I frequently pose and take measurements of all muscle groups to track my progress and monitor symmetry. In fact, I am currently modifying my training to correct a size difference for my left to right arm. While the right arm is dominant, it is lagging by almost 1 inch in circumference.
- I am a perfect candidate for testing a supplement regimen. I am dedicated, consistent, and willing to take advanced supplement logs. My familiarity with the scientific progress helps me to understand how you require a controlled condition set in order to accuracy measure the efficacy of your supplements.
- I am willing to baseline my nutritional intake & supplements immediately in order to be in a baseline state for testing of your product when ready.
- My current condition is perfect for testing the results of your products. After 9 weeks of training, I regained my strength and am near my previous best condition. However, I desire to add at least 10 more lbs. of lean muscle mass over the next 3 months and increase my strength with a target of 315 lbs. on flat bench as a benchmark. I have also set a goal of having 19 inch arms. This goal may be delayed as I correct my symmetry problem. Note: My largest arm is now approx. 17.75".
- I do not do illegal recreational drugs & consume alcohol very infrequently since I am fully aware of its negative impact on my growth and development.
- I am willing to cease taking my current supplements or switch brands for compliance with testing conditions.
Training Schedule / Protocol- I train Monday to Friday with splits. Sat. & Sunday are my off days. I take days off in the week if I feel that I am overtraining and need additional rest and recuperation time.
- My splits are (1) Biceps/Triceps, (2) Chest, (3) Shoulders, (4) Back, and (5) Legs. I am also planning on adding a full ab day.
- I train each muscle group with heavy weight motions & then lighter weight exercises for refinements and to ensure more isolated form.
- I focus primarily on free weights and include almost all supersets in my workout typically with a heavy exercise followed by a light exercise.
- I am 8 weeks into my training & have made significant progress as evident by my progression photos & training logs.
- I evaluate my training logs & create my workout structure on a daily basis & attempt to structure each routine to hit weak points.
- I typically include at least 1 ab routine with my other workouts, 2-3 times per week.
- I may add 6 sets of exercise for a muscle group that has not been worked in at least 72 hours if I feel that it needs it. Example: If I did biceps Monday, I may do 6 sets (2 exercises) of biceps with back on a Friday.
- I am currently prioritizing back and legs as I consider them my weaker areas.
Cardio Schedule/Protocol- I do not currently do cardio in the gym. I am focusing on mass building.
- When doing cardio, I prefer the treadmill and typically walk/jog for 30 - 60 minutes, 3-5 per week.
- I get most of my activity from playing with my children, including baseball, tennis, or running timed laps (recreational only).
- I will resume cardio training once I decide to cut.

- Powered Glutamine 5g/day (FINISHED)
- GNC Powered Creatine 15g/day

- Focusing on staying in caloric surplus
- Focusing on getting sufficient protein
- Focusing on eating frequently throughout the day (Protein bars helpful)
- Focusing on avoiding whitefoods (garbage carbs)
- H20 (2 to 3 litres)
Short Term Goal- Improve leg and back development.
- Improve upper chest by prioritizing incline movements (Goal: 250 lbs. by July 15th)
- Improve flat bench press to 325 lbs. once upper chest goal is achieved (Goal: 325 by 1 Month after 250 lb. incline bench success)
- Break 19" arms barrier (Goal: By July 31st)
- Improve abs
- Lean bulk w/ reduction in body fat percentage.
Long Term Goal- Maintain bodybuilding as a vital part of my life for its entirety.
- Train towards possible competition in Canadian Classic (November 2006).
- Train towards potential 1st time competing over the next 2 years. Decision to enter a competition will depend on my achieved condition. At present, I am doing my best to actively train like a professional, learning and improving as I go.
Prescription/Recreational Drugs- I am not on any prescription medication and I do not use recreational drugs. I do occasionally consume alcohol (light beer).
- UPDATE: I have decided to quit consuming alcohol of any sort (completely).
- I take Tylenol or Advil for headaches when they occur.
- I occasionally take melatonin as a sleep aid (not often).
Supplement History- I have not frequently used supplements during my training.
- I have trained with creatine and protein supplements in the past.
- I took HydroxyCut in 2000, but ceased it because I did not like the sensation.
- I tried Sans Tight and found that it increased energy immediately.
- I tried BSN Nitrix & found that it did promote extra pump during a workout.
- My current supplements are provided above.

Training experience (as much detail as possible.. TELL US ABOUT YOURSELF ! ! WHY should we choose you ! !): I've trained off and on with no guidance or knowledge for most of my teen years. It would typically last a few weeks and then I would just quit completely. Summer of 05 I decided I was tired of being a skinny punk, and started a workout program for real. Unfortunately I still had no knowledge or guidance and after a month of workong hard but seeing no results, I again quit. October 2005: I find Bodybuilding.com and read, and read....and read some more. Now I realised what had been lacking before, DIET! I formulated a diet and have been focusing my lifting around the main compounds since November. I have since gained about 15lbs with little or no fat gain.
Progress Journal:
http://forum.bodybuilding.com/showthread.php?t=663200
Current Training Schedule / Protocol (as much detail as possible): I'm currently running my own fullbody workout based off of the 5x5.
Monday:
Squat 3x8
Barbell Row 3x8
Dumbell Bench Press 3x8
Skullcrusher 2x8
Pullups 2xfailure
Wednesday:
Deadlift 3x8
Flyes 3x8
Military Press 3x8
Lateral Raises 3x8
Friday:
Squat 3x8
Barbell Row 3x8
Dumbell Bench Press 3x8
Dumbell Curls 2x8
Pullups 2xfailure
Cardio Schedule/Protocol (as much detail as possible): Very little. Ive been trying to do maybe a mile or two on offdays.
Current supplements (exact brand/product name):
Optimum 100% Whey
Prolab Creapure
Men's One A Day Multivitamin
Primaforce Lean Green
Syntrax Hyper H
Current Diet and macros (as much detail as possible): I'm typically aiming for around 4000 calories a day. I can hit this for the most part with the opccasional day closer to 3500. I never eat less than 3000 calories. I really stick with the basics for diet: Lean beef, turkey, and ham. Tuna, chicken, potatoes, sweet potatoes, skim milk, more skim milk, eggs, lentils, baked beans, OATS, brown rice, wheat bread, green veggies, oranges and bananas.
I'll also eat some of the "dirtier" foods as they don't really effect me. Things like ravioli, frozen pizzas, Wendy's Triple Cheeseburger for a cheat meal, Lean Pockets, etc.
My macros are usually around 45% carb, 40% protein, 15% fat.
500g carbohydrates(mainly complex carbs with maybe 100-150g of simple carbs), 400-425g protein, 100-125g fat
Current Daily water intake: At least a gallon on offdays and usually a bit over 2 gallons on days that I lift. More if I do any cardio.
Short Term Goal: Bulk to 170lbs
Long Term Goal: Bulk to 500lbs, but seriously 200lbs with a respectable BF% would be my "ideal body".
ANY and ALL Prescription / Non-Prescription / Recreational drugs: None.
Supplement history (as much detail as possible):
Just whats above. I've stuck to the basics for now. The creatine monohydrate has done well for me. The only supplement I've taken that I'm not currently on was BSN No-Explode, which seemed to be a decent pre-workout energizer.
Other product reviews / logs you have done (with links):
This log will probably disqualify me, but for what its worth my last day will be June 17th. http://forum.bodybuilding.com/showthread.php?t=789471

Training experience (as much detail as possible.. TELL US ABOUT YOURSELF ! ! WHY should we choose you ! !):
I've always been a big guy since I can remember. Lost ~75lbs doing strictly cardio for the last 4 years (big mistake), which left me pretty weak. Have been doing weight training for strength for the last 2 months with good progress.
