No pain, just a pretty loud clicking sound. I tried with no bar and put my hand on my knee, and I can feel it clicking when I get down passed parallel, not loudly though. When I put the weight on it gets louder. Should I be concerned at all or is it normal?

Is it a kind of click that you can't really feel but the same kind of sound like when you click your fingers?
I'm 18 and I used to have it slightly. I don't think it is permanent because mine went away after a few days of squating. If you jumped straight into weight lifting without using your knees very much prior then I think it kust needs some getting used to.

I had a similar problem along time ago when I first tired squats for the first time but quickly quit because the click made me nervous... I really have no idea what it was it felt and sounded like cracking your knuckle in your knee(but just less pressure... it was such a small sensation)
All I know is that I can do squats now w/o that noise in my knee...

I have the same thing as well, and i'm sure its related to the same "cracking your knuckles" phenomenon.
"The "popping" of the knuckles results from forcing joint fluid to
very rapidly pass from one side of the joint to the other, where the

rephrase that: a joint is an area where two or more separate and distinct
bones meet. The joint fluid provides a cushioning between the joints
so that they don't grate into each other. Cracking your knuckles forces

I have the same problem with or without weight. I had problems with my knees probably around 14 or 15. My doctor believed that I had a disease or disorder that I can't remember the name of for the life of me(its temporary,) but basically it happens when you grow very rapidly in height, basically the cartilage in your knees can't keep up and basically you have bones grinding together and it causes inflammation and some severe pain when exercising, and since I used to skateboard it was big problem.
Anyways enough ranting, I don't get pain or inflammation anymore, its been years, but that popping still remains. Only way to get rid of it is to make sure your doing a very slow controlled negative especially at the bottom. I'm not talking about extremely slow, just slow down a bit, see if that helps.
