    How does Ronnie Coleman train?

    Does anyone here know how Ronnie Coleman trains?

    I read once in a recent (about 2 months ago) FLEX magazine that he usually for example chest two days a week and he will do 4 sets of 15 reps per exercise and he will do barbell bench press, incline presses, and decline presses and the other day of the week he will use dumbbells to train his chest.

    For arms I read on a site he uses cables and does 4 sets of 15 reps per exercise for his biceps and he will do about three different exercises of cable curls.

    Does anyone know any more information about his type of training?

    Pros dont, nor should anyone for a matter of fact, normally have a set training routine.. if you do, your muscles will adapt and you'll hit a plateu. What you read in magazines is a load of ****, specially flex.. Get one of his training video's, they tell the story.

    Advice

    Rule of Thumb...if you want to live longer, remain injury free, and progress as a bodybuilder or as a recreational lifter....Do the exact opposite of Ronnie. Ronnie is not from this planet and folks that are not either very advanced or extremely strong with good exercise form should not try to copy a Ronnie workout. Do what works for YOU alone.

    Well said above. Following the pros for advice is one of the worst ideas ever. Most pros actually don't know much about training and nutrition. Before you flame me, hear me out. The pros just do what they have been doing for years. They eat what has been working for years. Ronnie doesn't know what the glycemic index, nor does he care. And he shouldn't! What he's been doing obviously works. These guys train the way they have been training for years and follow the advice of their trainers for nutrition.

    To the thread starter: Get either "The Unbelievable" or "The Cost of redemption" from e-bay. These will show you exactly how he trains (INTENSE). But please, don't try to copy him.

    the pros or their traininers know more than you or most ppl on these board, to say otherwise is really dumb, so they turned pro by chance lol?

    these guys put in million of hours to perfect their form, diet and lifestyle just to get where they are today

    they just fine tune and take what works for them and discard the rest through experience, to say they dont know anything is bull****, they still know the basics better than us all

    I will say that I've read that Ronnie takes four months off a year to replenish and rest, I think that's incredible since guys like Jay train year round. I've even heard of Jay starting to train two or three days after a Mr. O! That's crazy but very cool.

    I also think this year will be very different. I've heard Joe wants to get back into the game one more time and I think he will! I think Phil Heath will place fifth, Badell sixth, Martinez a controversial fourth, Jay third, Ronnie SECOND, and Gunter first.

    If I'm off on anything just please remember that I'm the one that said this FIRST.
    Gunter will beat Ronnie in a 2002 Show of Strength repeat at this year's O.
    I fear Jay will come short again and may be trying to mass-up again this year.

    Which IFBB has the most hollywood ties, the best looking, and has the most classical lines (even better than the still very young Heath)..>Gunter

    No, we all know that is a myth made up by CellTech so that they won't run out of bottles because Ronnie buys half of their stock.

    I'm talking about the science behind everything. I'm sure some do, but most don't because they just picked up weights and followed what everyone was doing at the time, and just stuck with it. They hire trainers to do all the thinking. Don't get me wrong, I think that is perfectly ok! I'd rather not know anything and look like them!

    You don't need to know the science behind it. Plenty of kids on these boards know every medical term of the bodyparts and things like that, but look like toothpicks. Lifting weights isn't complicated. Lift weights and you'll get big. Read a book, complain on the net about how athletes train the wrong way, how they're stupid, how you lift w/ perfect form but look like ****, and you'll continue to look like ****.

    Bodybuilding is practical, not theoretical. All the knowledge in the world won't make you get big, if you're not willing to put in the work.
