It's good fat, and if you are bulking, you need that fat. That kind won't harm you. If you are eating PB, get natural PB. It's not Hydrogenated.
If you don't understand oils, read my article.

peanut butter is a terrible source of protein. there is very little per serving, and it is an incomplete protein. that having been said, it is still a good food item. eat it for the fat/calorie content, not the protein.
The goal of bodybuilding is not to be in competition with others, rather, to be in competition with oneself. We are all dealt a different set of circumstances and the true test of a champion is making the most of the situation you are faced with.

this thread is 9 years old! Peanut Butter is great for fats and calories, but for protein, no.

The fats in peanut butter are generally healthy fats and shouldn't harm you. However, since I'm on a cut right now and love the taste of peanut butter, this is what I use.
It's delicious. Sometimes I mix it up just to eat it and not even use it as spread. If you have a vitamin shoppe near you they should carry it there. Get the chocolate, tastes like nutella.
Won't let me link it so go to vitamin shoppe . com and search this: YK-1014 / 1860949“You, me or nobody is gonna hit as hard as life. But it ain’t about how hard you hit. It’s about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward. How much you can take and keep moving forward. That’s how winning is done! Now if you know what you’re worth than go out and get what you’re worth. But you gotta be willing to take the hits, and not pointing fingers sayin’, you ain’t where you wanna be because of him or her or anybody!"

well i personally dont consider peanut butter to be a good protein source at all. for my diet/nutrition purposes it's a healthy fat source and it's a very calorie dense food to get those additional calories. your body needs a certain amount of fats to run properly. but add in rigorous training, cardio and if you have a job that requires a lot of labor, then you'll need additional fats if you're trying to put on some good lean muscle mass. so yes it's a great food source, but definitely not a protein source.

Hey guys this is actually my first post in the forum. I got a question, I was using 1 cup 2.2% fat cottage cheese and a small spoon of peanut butter right before I go to bed. (im in the cutting phase) . I switched cottage cheese to 1 scoop of casein protein 2 days ago.
When I had the conversation of eating peanut butter prior bed or prior workout my gym instructor told me that peanut butter isn't good when your cutting. Ive read tons of posts in the forum that people actually have a tea spoon of it prior workout or in the morning. What are your opinions on the subject?
