1. i know the Smith machine isnt as effective as a real bench, but it does actully help correct?

2. What are better exercises when working on chest days?

Incline bench press
chest press

The Smith machine is actually far better than a 'real' bench.

2. The Pec deck and a press machine (if your gym has one) are THE best chest exercises. Dont waste your time with push-ups whatever you do!

Make sure you get all your veggies after your workout! Good luck!

To actually answer your question, here's my workout for mass:

Dips
Incline DB Press
Incline Smith Machine Press
Flat DB Press

seems to be working pretty good so far.

On a more serious note, that's an awful lot!

I rotate these-
1. Incline BB press
DB Flies
Flat BB press

2. Dips
Incline BB press
Decline BB Press

3. Cable crossovers
Weighted pushups
Incline BB press

Now that works well!

Actually thats enough.

3 workouts is by far not enough to stimulate growth...especially in the chest area. I'm not saying you need to do 30 sets a workout, but at least 15 and up to 24....I do 20...and i do that twice a week. Back when i was so scared of "overtraining" i only did 3x3x10, damn i wasted my time...
