Hamstring workout w/o machine?
Hi guys! I was just wondering if any one knew any good hamstring excersizes i can do that don't include machine work. The hamstring curl machines at my gym are really crappy, and i dont get a good workout on them. I'm looking for isolation excersizes, not squats and lunges. I do dead lifts, but I'm curious if there's anything any one knows of besides the above. (I'm already doing squats and lunges, so i need some isolation work)
thanks

hams
deadlifts (especially stiff legged)
squats (mainly quads and glutes, but they hit the hamstrings a bit too)

I can do the GHR. I have machines, I'm just saying that the leg curl machines dont sit right on my body, no matter how I ajdust them.
What's the difference in SLDL and RDL? The only difference I could find was theat the stiff leg deads are done on a block and you touch the ground with the weights, but the RDL you do on the floor, and you dont touch the ground with the weights. Can some one tell me the difference in these two? And I'm guessing you wouldn't want to do them both on the same day?

There really is no difference.

Here is one that is a HUGE killer. Start slow or pay the price!!
Free body "leg" curls.
Lying face down, put your heels under the pad of a sit up bench. Now, using your hamstrings, curl yourself up!!
You can use a broomstick to support yourself.
You can also do leg curls off of a bench with a DB between your feet.

Defiant1, you just described Ghetto GHR. Manual leg curls.
and there is no real difference between RDL and SLDL. I always took RDL to have more knee bend than an SLDL

That's what I thought. I got a little confused there. That's exactly what I was looking for.

I like SLDL with dumbells. At the bottom bring the weights out to the sides so you end up with your hands beside your ankles. I get a better stretch and a little more isolation in my upper hams that way.
