    glycose after workout...

    Was wondering i read something in flex about taking 50 grams of carbs or sugar with protein and creatine wouldn't taht taste horablly or do i have it confused?

    Here's what i do.

    Buy yourself some vanilla protein powder and some riptide rush gatorade powder. Mix like 2.5 scoups of the gatorade with 2 scoups of the whey, some ice cubs and a bannanna in a blender.

    You'd be surprised..it tastes pretty good

    what i have been doing is mixing 2 scoops of protein with milk then 1/2 hour later i eat 2 cans of tuna on 2 slices of bread, cup of grape juice and 2 tbsp of peanute butter on 1 slice of bread is that ok or no?

    I also have been taking a yogurt and powerbar hour before workout, does power bar and yogurt have too much sugar in it or what?

    jay thats fine dude, as long as yur getting your carbs and protein. make sure u drink juice or sugar/carbs right after yur workout. your body needs that stuff. wait like 15 minutes-20 then take in some protein.

    You need carbs after your workout to stimulate insulin hormone release and refill your glycogen stores. I mix orange powerade with vanilla whey protein after my workout, it doesn't taste bad at all, and it has 50g carbs and 30g protein. I eat another meal of slow digest protein and slow digest carbs 45min to an hour later to stabalize my insulin levels. This is also a key time to take vitamins.

    good info st8. definatly bump on what he just said. you have a 30- 60 minute window periods( depending on the individual) after you finish your workout to get some carbs and protein into your sytem. st8, takes in 50 grams of carbs, and 30 of protein. i usually bump mine up to 70, and 45-50. its about the same ratio. i just take in more since im a bit bigger and need to get more into my body immediatly after my workout. what str8 says is true. you definatly want to eat a meal about 45-1.15 minutes later, after your post workout nutrition.

    most energy drinks like shark and red bull contain about 35g of glucose. this means the fastest carb absorption after workout since glucose is the simplest carb. drinking whey protein with it would help the whey be absorbed faster since it causes a really big insulin spike

    okay so what i'm doing is ok cause i have a protein shaek after workotu then 30 min later i have some tuna, 3 slices of bread, 2 tbsp of pb and cup of white grape juice
