    Check my training split please - and MY gains over 5 weeks !

    hey

    ive been training for 7 weeks (since i started but i took 2 weeks off after the 4th week due to some other reasons) so ive been training for 5 weeks i think

    since i started ive gained heaps

    Weight: 90kg - 98kg
    Incline Bench: 20kg-60kg
    Deadlift: 20kg - 60kg
    Leg Press: 80kg-200kg
    Military Press:20kg-30kg

    and other increments everywhere else

    im fairly happy

    now the routine ive been doing has been
    MOnday - Chest and tris
    tuesday - legs
    thursday - back and biceps
    saturday - shoulders

    now i think i should change this up a bit because its getting a bit old

    proposed new routine:

    Monday : chest and bis
    Incline BB
    Flat BB
    Flyes
    Dips
    barbell curls
    standing hammer curls

    tuesday: legs
    leg press
    leg curls
    extensions
    lunges
    squats - im going to include em soon, as im not flexible enough for proper parallel squats

    Thursday: Back (more volume this time)
    Barbell rows
    Deadlifts
    pulldowns
    good mornings

    saturday: shoulders and tri's
    standing military press
    side laterals
    bent over laterals
    reverse upright rows
    pushdowns
    CGBP or extensions

    what ya think ?!?

    You weigh 17, 98kg (around 210lbs) and you can only deadlift 60kg (132lbs)? Are you sure you're lifting as heavy as poss?

    im not sure if im lifting as much as possible...as i havent been bbing very long (started 7 weeks ago with 2 weeks off in between ..so 5 weeks in total)

    im not going for 1rm atm , just trying to get used to the excercise/form

    I dont really agree, some people like them some dont. I dont really see any disadvantage to splits? Im open to being proven wrong!

    everyone i know who is big and muscualar use splits, only people who are new or are small and not very good do an all body or upper body at once. But thats just the hundred or so people i know who train, sure its different elsewhere

    your one to talk, your red. and its true. you can lift more by focusing on one bodypat per session, insteead of trying a whole body workout each session, its just plain dumb. everyone can suit themselves though, but everyone using a split makes great gains, the guys doing their whole body each time suck, the only benefits they get are definition and its still less definition than everyone doing splits.

    i'm not saying that is an actual fact of truth, i am saying that everyone i know who uses that method make much less gains in every department, strength, size, appearance etc, that the people i know who do 1 bodypart each session, i used to do that, but then cause i trained hard, i couldnt do it everyday. if you were training intensely bacon man, then you would find you are sore for a day or 2 at least and therefore need time for that bodypart to recover and cant work it again. and what method do you use, and do you pics?

    Thats an opinion, I do too many olympic lifts to do a split...they dont make much sense to me. Why isolate my biceps when they will grow just as much doing the back exerices? Same with tri's and chest. Splits just make sure you're always sore!

    ok. well a) i work in a pharmacy, it's my job to know these kinds of things.
    b) i read nonstop about these kinds of things so i can keep learning.
    a
    c) my classes consist of sports sciences, human biologys, athlete development etc, all involving an increasing knowledge of all things body
    d) i train with 6 people, therefore we all get to bounce experience, ideas and gains etc off each other, therefore more people to see effects results etc.
    e) i'm a boxer, therefore, I need to know how to take care of my body and the effects of things involved with it.
    f) there are at least a hald dozen pro's at my gym who we talk to to learn more.

    You don't have a clue, when your training like 5 body parts in one day, you cant focus on that one muscle 100%, you do one muscle part a day focus on that directly, then the next day do a body part which has no effect on the one you did hte day before, man you are a chump, not to sound like a tool but my dad is huge, hes been lifting for 20 years, and his lifting partner competed in shows before, and they all do splits, get a ****ing clue you idiot. now go play with your gamecube.

    only one day of rest between chest/biceps and shoulders triceps?

    On saturday you work on your shoulders/triceps and on monday you work on your chest/biceps?

    If you spread out these two workouts i'm sure your chest day would be more efficient.
