Talking Holy crap, i benched 700lbs today!

Just kidding, but now that i have your attenion please answer my question.
i've gone on a cutting cycle as far as weighlifting is concered but this is the first time i've gone to a cutting diet as well. normaly i eat pretty clean but i alway's eat so i dont get hungry. now that i'm on a 2100 calorie diet i cant eat the amounts i'm used to eating. i can take the hunger pangs no problem but this just seems to go against everything i'm used to doing nutrition wise. i'm careful to get the right amounts of protein/carbs and fats but if i'm going hungry sometimes thru-out the day won't my metabolism slow down therefore defeating the purpose of dieting anyway?
is there a way to stay full throughout the day and stay within the target amount of calories?
sorry for the long post thanx for any help....

    weight 162lbs
    height 6'

Nicely done, you got my attention...finally thought someone beat my record of 175! LOL

Anyways on to cutting, if you dont eat 6 meals a day, this would be a good time to start. It will make your body feel like theres always food coming so it wont slow its metabolism.

If you feel hungry a little at first that's ok. It's a good idea to cut calories slowly. eg.
    week 1 3000 cals
    week 2 2500 cals
    week 3 2100 cals
This way you will get used to it a bit better. But anyway its normal to feel a little hungry as your body adjusts. If you track your calories and you are feeding yourself enough, your metabolism should stay right where it is. If you like you can increase the amount of low cal fruits / veggies you eat. Some of these foods, eg. spinach, brocolli, cauliflower, can fill you up and actually contain less calories than your body will use trying to digest it.

    Thumbs up

    sorry i wasnt clear before.
i drink a gallon of water everyday
    i eat 6 times a day
this is only my second day on the diet so i'm still adjusting my diet with fruits and veggies. but even if i could eat twice the fruits/veggies i'm eating now i'd still be hungry. and like i said i can take the hunger no problem. i'm just worried that i'm doing my body wrong by letting it go hungry.
    thnx for the input.

time for my last snack... i'm off to burger king (kidding)

The best way to stay full without adding alot of carlories is to eat a ton of vegetables.

    Examples:

    Broccoli - nutrition/fullness link
    Cucumbers - nutrtion/fullness link
    Carrots - nutrition/fullness link

There are many, many more, but these are the vegetables I use to fill me up.

I guarentee you that if you eat a cup of each of these, you'll be pretty damn full in 20 minutes.

Definately vegetables. Also go for your sugar free gum and those sugar free chewy lollies.

If you want access to a huge database of foods to look at the caloric content (along with vitamins, amino acids, fatty acids etc.), check out a database I've just made available at AminoZ.com.au - it's on the left menu "AZ Food DB".
