A couple years ago I went to the NPC Nationals in Atlanta. Most of the bodybuilders there had autograph stuff in their fanny packs, like money, pens, etc. I saw Shawn Ray at a table with someone, I think it was Rico McClinton and asked if I could have an autograph. He was like "no," with a deadpan expression, looks at Rico and they both start laughing. Then he says "yeah, 5 bucks." I walked away. Nasser was cool though; huuuge. And Ronnie asked me where the nearest burger joint was. I pointed him to a Wendy's and later saw him ordering like 10 burgers.

I started using one at work after Ivan passed through. It was very handy to carry around hand sanitizer and first aid supplies and even my cell phone. When you have a lot of field equipment to carry around every little bit helps. Since then I use it at the gymto carry my MP3 Player, gum and other crap. It is handy and as long as youre sure of your manhood in the first place then a "pack" shouldn't define you in any way. It's just portable storage especially if you have things you want to keep close and secure in the absence of pockets. Besides try squatting wit stuff in your pocket if you have decent legs. It's just an unnecessary distraction.

You can have all things in one place, having things in your pockets when you are exercising is so uncomfortable, of course, depends the kind of gym you are too, and if you arrive walking or with your car to the place. There are gyms that don't let you carry a big bag or even a backpack on the weights area.

How I wish they would come back in style. It was so easy to carry your crap around wearing gym shorts and that was before cell phones were around.

I bought a 'fanny pack' when I was on holiday in Brazil.. Yeah, everyone thought I was packing a pistol but who cares. It's the most conveinant thing to carry your personal belongings when going through airports. That was about 4yrs ago.. I still use it to this day. Even better when riding my motorbike and not want to bring a backpack around. Not to mention the stylish black leather look is never out dated.

Many moons ago when I was younger I remember this one guy, who was jacked, always had this beat up leather fanny back. He always kept a few bottles of jack Daniel nips in there for right after his workout.
