Queensryche hits Phoenix on Oct. 2nd, got my tickets last night right before the George Carlin concert I was attending. Man, Queensryche has been around for a while. I saw them in Japan back in 1990.
From their website, they will be playing Mindcrime I and II in it's entirety - should be great.
Looks like they are playing in almost every majority city this year and tickets are not that expensive. Check them out if you get the chance.

eh? I have been living under a rock. I read that QR was going to release a Mindcrime:II, but it's already been released?!?!?!
WTF? I haven't seen hide nor hair of this?
and yes, I am a MONSTROUS fan of theirs from wayyyyyyyyyy back. I still get shivers when I heard Geoff Tate let off that siren during the intro to Queen of the Reich
I like the goofy **** too, like NM156. Great stuff!

The first time a saw them was when I was stationed in Japan (1983-86). Never saw em' in concert but I had the LaserDisk of this concert. Yes, LaserDisk!:
HELL YEA!! QR is my favorite band...JET CITY WOMAN is my number 1 song of ALL TIME...i may go see them to..hell its general ad. so what the hell...but if they dont play all the EMPIRE songs as well ill be pissed haha!!......
we need to get everyone to write a letter to DeGarmo and tell him to get his ass off the airplane AND COME BACK TO THE REICH!!!
well the ad said they were playing extended suites from empire, american soldier and one another album. I guess that menas they are playing close to the whole album , would love to see them play mindcrime all the way through
I'm a Queensryche fan, to some extent.
The EP, The Warning, Rage For Order and Operation Mindcrime are some of my favorite heavy metal/power metal albums out there, and I listen to these on a very regular basis.
Empire had some strong songs, and some filler, but I listen to it every now and then.
Everything else, I either dislike it, or I really hate it.
I don't see why people call them the fathers of prog metal though. Their first couple of albums did have some prog influences, but they're pretty much straight up, old-school power metal albums. I'd really prefer that title to be given to Watchtower (I also wouldn't call Fates Warning a prog band until at least No Exit, although Awaken The Guardian did have some prog hints to it)
Screamer and Lethal were sort of early Queensryche rip offs, but they were amazing at it.

Is that from 84 tour in Japan?
My favorite bootleg was during the Rage For Order tour in 87. To me, that's when Geoff hit his peak.
