Maybe a math expert can do the math

    A 300ft long object traveling across a 500ft FOV at 350mph.
Footage at 24fps. How many frames should we have captured of the object?

350mph x 5280ft = 1,848,000 feet per hour, / 60 mins, / 60 seconds = 513.33333 feet per second. so that is about 24 frames of the nose at least, right?

All reports have said (and the video appears to reflect) 2fps - which is perfectly reasonable for a surveillance recording system, especially in 2001.

Working the math back from 350mph equates to approx 250 feet of aircraft travel between every frame. So if the FOV at the plane's distance is actually 500 feet, only 2 or 3 frames would capture segments of the aircraft - and they'd obviously be extremely blurry given the relatively low quality camera/recording system.

And a quick note to the thread starter: These rants belong in the Religion & Politics forum, where the topic has already been beat to death multiple times.

True, but in the 3rd frame of the explosion, there is debris flying in the air, maybe 50-100ft above the roof of the structure.

I'd think that 1.5 seconds after impact, you shouldn't have anything flying off of the building. Does that seem unreasonable?

The timestamps on the images seem off, too.

    Sept 12th 17:37:19
    Sept 12th 17:37:21
    Sept 12th 17:37:23

    There are some frames missing.
Oddly enough, some guy had the frames we're discussing way back in 2002.

Some people theorize that it was a Tomahawk Land Assault Missile......well, TLAMs cruise at 880km/hr, or 547mph. Whatever hit the Pentagon was going slower than that. Much slower.

    just some food for thought:

the plane does not have to travel 350 mph to hit the wall. and also, planes typically land at 150 mph. if you were a terrorist about to crash into a building, wouldnt you rather go slower and hit the target, rather than maintain a high speed and miss the target?

Miss the target? Do you have any clue how large the Pentagon is? The "pilots" who crashed that plane were not trained in landing or take-off. They learned to fly, that's it. I doubt they slowed, raised flaps, and lowered landing gear prior to impact. In fact, for maximum effect you would want to travel as fast as you could.

The time for preparation has past.

How many of you actually realise that flight 77 was lined up with a highly populated ring of the pentagon (where Donald Rumsfield resided), but flew over the Pentagon, turned around, and flew into the only relatively unnocupied section of the building.

    Just some food for thought.

My arugement isn't that flight 77 or a 757 did or didn't hit the Pentagon, my arguement is there is no way in hell Hani Hanjour could have piloted it into the Pentagon.

If anyone has a spare hour I encourage them to listen to this aeronautical engineers review of what went on at the Pentagon and with flight 77.

    Worth a listen.

Hanjour obtained a commercial pilots license in 1999 and according to the chief instructor, "Despite Hanjour's poor reviews, he did have some ability as a pilot, "There's no doubt in my mind that once that [hijacked jet] got going, he could have pointed that plane at a building and hit it," he said.

Exactly...wouldn't it be extremely difficult to fly so fast so close to the ground?
