New York Barbells LAT/ROW MACHINE?

New York Barbells has their C8285 - LAT/ROW MACHINE on sale for $249 delivered. It looks like a good price compared to similar units such as Body Solid's.

Has any one had any experience with this unit?

Price is good, but every 'home' lat machine I've used that has a square tube that the weights ride up and down on.... they just don't have a good feel to them.

No experience here, but you can buy a Gold's Gym XR series smith machine that has everything that has, plus you can squat and press with it as well.......same price + S&H. Now I realize that Gold's equip is cheap **** overall, but I own one of these and I am very happy with it. Yep, Wally World. It was supposed to be a Weider when I ordered it, but ended up getting the Gold's. Anyway, I had looked at a bench like yours above, but after thinking about the wisest way to spend my money.........I got a lot more bang for the buck with a more complete set-up.

Important to note: I don't use my smith machine to bench, as I have a seperate bench for that. I bought it specifically for squats, rowing and lat tower.

Hey man, my aunt has that, shes a athlete and marathone runner, and weightlifter, but it turns out it was way to small and didn't even have enough weight for her.

I know what you mean. I have a lat tower with my current Weider 500 rack. It handles 300+ pounds just fine on low rows but any stress placed on the higher portion of the square tube will get it to bind sometimes. I keep it well lubed and it does help. However, I find with 100s of reps of cable crutches, it gets kind of tight.

Right now I use a barbell in my rack to keep my body down with heavy lat pull downs and wanting a knee bar/pad is the one the main reasons I was looking for a stand alone tower.

Besides, it gives me an excuse to get something else!

The PowerTec one is out of my price range. I have been looking for a used one and I noticed that most sell for the $100 range on eBay if you are able to find one locally.

I was able to grab a used NYBB Lat Machine today for $75. It is in great shape. It did take a tank+ of gas but was still a good deal.
