What do you drink during a workout?

So to stay hydrated during a workout, what do you drink? Are you a water drinker or do you use a work-out drink for carb and electrolyte replacement?
For me it's 20 to 30 ounces of water (1 to 1 and 1/2 20 oz bottles of water) over a 45 to 60 minute workout and stretch period.
What works best for you?

About 24-72 oz of water, depends on how much i sweat and how i feel i feel i get energized with water, sluggish if i dont drink enough.

I drink water most of all the time when working out. However I did go to the gym once when I was really buzzin...boarder line drunk....My Gym is open 24 hrs a day...And in my drunkin state of mind...The idea Popped in my head to go to the gym. Man was that a good work out...LOL!!! But Im not that dumb now, I NEVER DRINK ANYMORE!!!!

On a serious note . Water during the workout and 5-10gm glutamine mixed with some whey powder post workout .

I have tried during work out concoctions in the past, but it did the opposite of what it was intended to do - it took away energy from my work out and diverted it to the digeston process. Since then me beverage of choice during work out has been good 'ol H2O.

Great stuff. What gbat forgot to tell you all is that you can also get it in powder form and just add water once you get to gym. Icequeen, I have the same problem, the bubbles tickle my nose

I do about 1-1.5 gallons of water a day and about 4 diet cokes/mtn dew/vanilla cokes/ cherry cokes/lemon cokes/etc... all diet sodas

I take a trip to the water fountain between each set at the gym, thats my rest period

Of the 45 respones to the poll so far 43 have been water, good ole' water...but somebody(???) who chose to vote and not to post voted for a work-out drink and another has a special secret blend developed by NASA that they're not sharing with us.....now what's wrong with that picture? Holding out on their fellow Over 35 brothers and sisters!
Probaly somebody from around Ponce deLeon Springs, maybe using water from the Fountain of Youth or something....

I once went to a party where there was a strawberry margarita punch. A guy who had just turned 21 came and thought the punch needed a little extra 'spike'. He opened the liquor cabinet, found some peppermint schnapps and poured it in! At least we 'over 35's' wouldn't do that, would we
