A Little Background Information:
Well today was my last day of highschool. And graduation is May 24th . I graduated with a 5.2 weighted GPA and a 3.6 unweighted. I’m attending the University of South Florida, planning on getting my degree in Exercise Science, then going off to business school. I want to someday own my own business, or help run a large company. I’ve come a long way, I used to be a gigantic computer nerd, I played Counter-Strike for hours each day. For my 15th birthday my dad bought me a bench and some weights and I found these forums shortly after, I got “bit” by the bodybuilding bug and have been reading about it and living it ever since. When I started I was around 6’1” 170lbs(strong ectomorph, decent mesomorph frame though, always been wide). For two years I ate and gained. My diet and training have come leaps and bounds from what they used to be when I first started, I can look back and look at pictures and it really is amazing how I’ve improved. My family and friends have really noticed the most/been amazed at how I’ve changed since I was a freshman. They were looking at old pictures from when I was a freshman the other day and saying that I’m not even the same person. My body is not the only thing that has changed, I am a better person inside and out and I believe and hope my body to be the worst part about me. I thank God and I thank this great sport and everyone who has supported me via friendship, knowledge, and criticism(motivation) for this great gift of being able to bodybuild, just improve in general, and to live..
Well now that that is over with… I’ve only done one other competition; it was put on by student government at my high school and judged by a bodybuilder husband and wife who own the local Gold’s down here. I won the heavyweight class and the overall pretty easily, there wasn’t much competition and only like 3 other kids who competed took it as seriously as I did. Here is a link with pictures and info from that competition, I stepped on stage at ~200lbs, the contest was on March 16th: http://www.hornmedia.com/contest/mrwolf.html
A small group called Classic Sports Models contacted me after the show at my high school, they are the reason I am doing this show. The entire event is called FAME, it is highly covered and there is a media expo and it is supposedly really good for exposure. They are paying my entry fee/registration and hotel room, all I have to do is list them as my sponsor on the entry form and do a casual shoot and a workout shoot Sunday after the competition. It is a really large event. I will be competing in the Open Student(high school student’s only) division. The photographer that contacted me said he went to the same show in LA and saw the winner of the student body division and he thinks I would have won from what he saw at my other competition—so I have a shot(exciting).
Training Split:
Day 1 – Back/Biceps
Day 2 – Chest/ Triceps
Day 3 – Heavy Abs
Day 4 - Legs
Day 5 – Shoulders/Traps
Day 6 – Heavy Abs
Day 7 – No Training
Pre-Contest Preparation Plan
Cardio 6-8oz. water, 30mins low intensity
Meal 1 9eggs 1 cup of oatmeal
2 vaporize capsules
Multi-vitamin
Fish Oil
Glucosamine
Note: vaporize is MAN Vaporize (Seasmin w/ Big Fish). I am going to incorporate MAN Scorch at 4 weeks out(28days out), at 6pills ed, 3 morning, 3 afternoon, that’ll use all 168 caps.
Current Weight: 219lbs
Want to step on stage at 205-210lbs (5lbs more at than my contest in march, equal if not better conditioning).
As a natural Layne Norton has been a big inspiration to me, as well as Kevin Levrone although enhanced he has my favorite physique of all time. After this contest I plan to relax a little bit and take it easy... worrying about eating every 2-3 hours for the past couple of months is really taking its toll. I will take some time off and train and put on some quality mass, ultimately I'd like to do the Teen Natty's when I'm 19(in 2008), un-enhanced, and hopefully place. Thanks everyone!
here are some pictures from 12weeks out. I can't really take pictures by myself of all of the mandatories, but they are just some front shots so you can get an idea of conditioning/bodyfat level.
Woke up did 30mins of low intensity cardio around 630ish. Was raining outside lightly, was kind of cool doing cardio while it was still dark and sort of drizzling . Came back took my multi-vitamin, glucosamine, and 2 vaproize on empty stomach still, downed about 1/4 a gallon.
Scrambled 6eggwhites, 2 1/2yolks, damn yolks kept slipping in, and 1cup of oatmeal.
Threw the eggs on top of the oatmeal and mixed them in and ate it. I have field day today at school from 9AM -12Noon(last time I have to ever be on campus!!!), it is mandatory if we want to walk at graduation, pretty lame. They are going to have hamburgers and hotdogs and stuff there; I'll pack a chicken breast and some broccoli and sweet potato.
I'm planning on eating that there about 10ish then as soon as its over coming home taking the 5GB capsules and going to the gym, after the gym I'm going to run out and get gas and pick up 2 more packages of chicken breasts and a **** load of sweet potatoes and about 36more eggs, and 4-5 packages of broccoli florets. I'll cook everything up after I workout and get post workout meal in and have some downtime.
I'm off to go shower then to hit up field day. I'll update later.
--Update
It was raining and the fields were wet so field day was virtually cancelled. We just checked in and told them where to send our final transcripts and got ice cream and left. I gave my ice cream to a friend, was glad they didn't have hamburgers or anything because I would have been tempted. Dieting really gives you an appreciation for food. I can not wait until this is over and I can EAT.
Anyhow, ended up going to bowling alley with like 10-15friends. I ate my chicken, and sweet potato there, I got a packet of BBQ sauce from the counter tho for the chicken. And I had 2-3fries from my friend’s plate of fries, so I did deviate a bit.
Got home, changed things up, had some leftover tilapia(sp?) fish from bonefish grill. It had a bunch of seasoning on it, I also had some mixed vegetables with that and about 1/4 cup of mashed potatoes(that's what was left over) instead of chicken, broccoli and sweet potato. About 15minutes later I took 5GB capsules and then headed to the gym. Today was Chest/Triceps, went extremely well. My strength is steadily falling though but it's expected with dieting, I'm really busting my ass to not go down in weights so I ensure I retain my mass. So the workout went very well. As soon as I got home I made a protein shake, 1 1/2scoops ON 100%, with 5g creatine, and some ice, downed it in like 5seconds. Took a shower and am about to have a true Chicken/Broccoli/Sweet Potato meal in about 30minutes. Then I'll do cardio after that settles, have a Chicken/Broccoli meal and head to bed.
So all in all I got everything in today. Diet: 6/10 Training: 8/10 Rest/How I'm Feeling: 7/10
About 5weeks out exactly, things are going to start to get tooth and nail strict around week 3, possibly 4 depending on how I'm looking. Later.
Everything was spot on today. I got all of my meals in perfectly except for my last meal I'm having tilapia instead of chicken. I hit abs pretty heavily in the gym followed up by some moderate intensity cardio, things are looking good. Tomorrow I'm meeting with someone who is going to take a look at me and tell me if I'm on track or not and go over some other things with me. I'm excited. Also tonight I'm going through my playlist trying to finally decide on my posing song so I can begin putting my routine together. I'm going to go do my posing then I'm off to bed.
Looking good. That's a real impressive physique. STOP CHEATING! No french fries! Do you think you competition is out eating that crap?
Hit up some sugar free jello. They are godlike precontest lol.

exactly. When you think about eating that crap ask yourself "should someone who eats this win a bodybuilding show"
You know the answer.
Your conditioning looks good, as for your posing, turn your feet pointed out a bit this will give your quads the look of greater sweep.

thanks layne and mike. yeah I completley agree. I'm glad I'm out of school now, normally the dieting isn't a problem for me it's just the last couple of days of school we had senior breakfast, senior cookout, all this stuff and everyone is running around eating whatever having a good time not thinking twice.. just wore on me. From now until the contest though it's going to be strict strict strict.
About the posing. I'm going to try and get my girlfriend or someone to take pictures of me hitting all the mandatories and the quarter turns and I'll get those up here.
In a couple of hours I'm going to go get checked out by JT. He was the head judge at my local competition. Him and his wife run their own conditioning business out of Gold's, really good stuff. I'm interested to see what he thinks. I'll update later.
no excuses bro! everyone has difficulties during contest prep. My lab where I work has parties literally every week, they had danishes and cakes and cookies sitting out, and when they part is over, they just leave the food there the rest of the week so people can snack on it as they like. I have to walk by it everyday, but I don't look at it twice because I know that food may make me feel good for 5 minutes, but winning will make me a champion forever.
discipline and determination my friend.

thanks layne, great words. that's why i have a lot of respect for you
Today was a good day overall. I woke up and did abbrevieated cardio sort of in between meal 1..... it was a hectic morning as my parents left to go out of town this afternoon and won't be back until sunday and we had to get everything in order. I went to the gym and had one of the most intense leg workouts of my life. It was really truly great. After my workout I still had like 30mins to wait until the guy who was supposed to give me a look would get a chance too, I felt like i was wasting away jsut waiting there so I had to get something in me so I bought an Isopure drink, 40g whey isolate no carbs, and downed that while i was waiting.... that's the only thing i deviated on today.. JT looked me over and said I look good, but I he could get me badass. Overall I'm ok at 5weeks out but he is really going to help me out(i hope). He looked at my diet and said that there are too many carbs and asked why I wasnt incorporating BCAA's in there. He said he was going to re-write my entire diet and send it to me then I'm to call him and talk it over. You definitely learn more and more as you go along and experience things that's for sure! I know a hundred times what I knew than when I was 5weeks out getting ready for my first contest--constant improvement!
Chicken I'm sometimes switching up with steak or steak and shrimp(plain). I'm also dabbing in some sourkraut or however you spell it, lots of taste, virtually nothing in it but fiber. That Xtend sure don't mix, and the powder str8 up tastes 100x better than when it's mixed in water. It's almost like when you mix it in water all the dyes/coloring seeps into the water and the BCAA's just sit at the top lol, it's all good though, solid product w/ great profile compared to the other BCAA supps I had available to me.
Carbs are down and it sucks. I had a lot of steak today for some extra fat to compensate for low carbs. I hit abs pretty well and my cardio was very intense today. New pics to give general idea of how im leaning out, I took these at like 12:30 last night, exhausted. :-p
edit: i think i have about 5lbs more to lose, and at a little under 5weeks out I think I'm on track =), that'll put me onstage about 5-7lbs heavier than i was in march, better conditioning, if I do that my goal will have been met win or lose... going to win though. No doubt.
Today will be a very low carb day. I'm going to do the oatmeal in meal1, half of a sweet potato in meal 2, then no carbs except from broccoli and sour kraut the rest of the day.. Then tomorrow ill do oatmeal, half sweet potato pre-workout, half post workout, so I can have some intensity during my workout. I took my first serving of Scorch V3 about 15minutes ago(3 capsules). Today all I'm doing is cardio morning(already did), and I'm going to do cardio tonight as is on schedule, no lifting not even abs, going to let me body re-coop. My whole body is sore/tense.. esp my shoulders, back, and legs--specifically calves. Tomorrow it's back in the gym to hit back/biceps. =) mmm
I forgot to mention the man that is making this thing happen! Steve Dryer(sdprotegemodeling@yahoo.com, http://www.myspace.com/63174650, aim - sdproteges, yahoo - sd042379) is the man who got me in contact with Classic Sports Models. If you have any interest in modeling I highly recommend Steve, he is very personable and very available and he has some great contacts.
Woke up at 7:30 did cardio until 8:00ish, had my eggs and oatmeal. Finished eating around 8:30ish.. Need to be back from the gym by twelve so my dad can have the car, which means I need to leave before 11, so I'm going to eat again at 10:30, ill have some steak and broccoli, no sweet potato, then ill have a protein shake immediately after i train and about 30mins after that I'll have some more steak and broccoli, then continue with the steak and broccoli the rest of the day. Going to try and go out and buy primarily fish and some chicken for the next couple of days, want to start leaning out more quickly. I have so much steak in the fridge though that I bought that needs to be cooked and eaten.... ugh. I weighed myself this morning and it said 213-214 so I ideally want to loose another 4lbs. I'm ceasing the Scorch V3 unfortunately because right now I'm really sensitive to stimulants, as soon as I took my morning dose yesterday once it kicked in it had a calming effect but once it wore off I felt a good deal of anxiety(again, really sensitve to stimulants right now). So I'm going to have to stay away from stimulants for a while yet unfortunately.
The head judge who was impressed from my first competition runs his training business out of the Gold's I workout at(the membership is what I won). He took a look at me today. Said he was going to dial me in for both the Tampa Bay Classic(June 10th) and the Musclemania(June 23-24th). Meeting with him tonight to take measurements and look me over again. Diet is changing. Cardio is changing. Can't disclose details anymore really--will continue updating this log though with my progress and with my general experiences and of course the results. =)
