Nintendo Wii versus Playstation 3

If it cost $400-$600 why not just buy a console. You can hack the console and play games for free.

This debate is getting too personal. My argument is more people will buy PS3 than Wii. I'm not going to argue about the few thousand of people who modify there PCs to play PS3 games.

Because I can play exclusives from both of those consoles on my 1 PC. While at the same time i'm making my computer better for downloading movies ripping DVD's and other things.

I don't think PS3 will sell bad but I don't see it selling as well as Wii simply because of its rediculous price tag. plus there isn't enough to go around. 400k avalible throughout the holiday? there will be 4million Wii's avalible by christmas so everyone that will be SOL in getting a PS3 may opt to purchase a cheaper Wii.

How is the PS3 more innovative than Wii if its just an upgraded graphics and a better processor?

Also, if you already have a decent computer now it shouldn't cost much to upgrade to play Crysis.

To tell you the truth i'm not really anticipating Crysis. PS3 has eyetoy, tilt, their version of motion controller, blue-ray, network that encourages users and developers to interact and make games, Sony online store that is more than what the Wii offers, better hardware for AI, better hardware for more things to happen on screen all at once, interaction with AI is better, and more things. I think better hardware is more useful than a controller that is unproven. There's still more things in conventional gaming that we have not seen, and the Wii is trying to end that with there quirky games. What i see on the Wii is either a mini-game, no online, tech demo, or port.

dvd = 4.7gb

blu-ray = 25gb or somthing like that

Were getting off topic with the PC modifications and there's not many people who are smart enough and afford to invest so much time into that stuff.

Back on topic, the PS3 will sell more than the Wii because of they got a huge chunk of the market share, the blu-ray, the 1080p, and the name. Nintendo is $250 but it doesn't mean anything because the name is not recognized in the public as much as Sony.

Nintendo has lost it's image when it comes to a large selection of 3rd party games.

the number of games on ps2 doubles what was on the GC. people want selection and nintendo just cant get that kind of support from devs.

GC misssed dozens of big games last gen that were on xbox and PS2.
i dont see that changing with wii, ps3 and 360.

Okay, well it's obvious you like GameCube's selection of games. So I guess I missed something then....Would you mind recommending me some decent games that are exclusive to GameCube, i.e. not available on any other platform? You'd be doing me (and others I'm sure) a big favor.

why do they have to be exclusive to gamecube to be mentioned ? many good games are for multi systems and even pc !

...not unless blu-ray fails like UMD did.... If I remember correctly betamax was leaps and bounds better than VHS and that format still failed....and if you think about it, are we really ready for Blu-ray? I think DVD can last almost another 10 years.

you also have to take into consideration the cost of games for that extra space. very few games will actually fill up all of that space and for the games that DO, well prepare to pay a pretty penny (rumors of $79.99-$89.99! for games)

doesnt mean anything, it could be rockstar table tennis, max payne, bully etc..or a whole new game. most devs will wait and see how wii does, gc support fell off 2 years in.

Not to mention I can already play GTA and Oblivion on my PC, which is far more powerful than a PS3, has many more games, doesn't require a $3000 TV to run at high resolution, and is much more versatile.

Yeah, you can play those games on a PC. Just wait about a year and half for it to become compatible on it... Sheesh.

I find it funny how you say those games aren't on the level of Zelda, Mario, and SSB.

GTA and Oblivion sold more copies than the latest Zelda, Mario, and SSB games combined and both had a 9.5 / 10 rating I believe from many major gaming magazines.

Assassin's Creed isn't out yet so I can't speak for it other than it's getting great reviews.
