Rav Becomes Newest WNBF Pro!!!
I just got back from the Northeast Classic and am pleased to announce that Rafael has won the Middleweight Division and Overall Title, becoming the newest WNBF Pro. He came in weighing only 154 lbs. but he was more dry and striated than ever before. When they announced his win, he collapsed to the ground in tears. Congratulations Raf!!!

Thanks!!
Wow! I just got back from Mass as a new WNBF Pro!! I wasn't expecting this whatsoever!........Unreal!!! I thought it would have at least taken me another year. Thank you Lord!
It was defenitely worth missing my med school senior formal.
It was a great show with tough competition, but I came in dialed in and acutally was competing againts people 10-20lbs heavier than me!
Dr. Deadlift thanks for the post! You looked great and Sandman you also had a great showing- great posing routine.
Man, what a day- I came in thinking I was going to lose and came out a professional! I'm expecting to wake up any moment now!

rav, i'll also be posting a video of the overall posedown between the four classes shortly. It was definitely a great showing between you and the lightweight winner. I knew you had the win when you turned around and had striated hammies!

Thanks man- you're awesome! It was nice meeting you at the contest and talking with you backstage. Thanks for looking out for me earlier in the show. Hit me up if you have any questions or anything.

Hey Raf, the most amazing part of the show wasn't the fact that you won the pro card because I knew you were going to steal that overall trophy as soon as I saw the lineup. My favorite part was the fact that you only weighed 154 lbs. and you were taking on guys weighing up to 174!! Although you were 20 lbs. less, on stage you looked just as big if not bigger than the rest of the competitors. I was actually wondering if you could post up what your typical precontest diet was like. I know you dieting for 22 weeks, but did you rotate your carbs or do refeeds like Layne recommends? I'm curious to see what your main sources of protein, fat and carbs are. Finally, what supplements did you use? Thanks for everything and best of luck. I'm sure I'll be seeing a spread of you in Natural Bodybuilding magazine shortly!

Congrats RAV!
Great job Rav. That is so awesome. I couldn't be happier for you. I came oh so close to being a Pro as well this weekend. I had such a great year and was just beaten by someone better, Layne my boy! I considered it an honor to lose to Layne. I gave him all I had but it just wasn't quite enough. I will have my time soon though. Again, congrats and great job!

Thanks for the kind words- funny, when I just missed the lightweight cutoff I was upset b/c my goal was to win my class. When I weighed myself before going on stage I was just "oh well, I'm just going to give it my all." Also, throughout the day I didn't give up and stuck with the show day diet till the end! It payed off! During the overall I was just having fun and when my number was called I had to check it and then I collapsed on the floor.
Tom. I have to take my licencing exam and Wed I have convocation, Thurs. I graduate and Friday I go on vacation. I'll try and post up my diet and all the supplements as soon as I can. Thanks.
Raf

Brian-
That show must have been great. I saw the pics and you gave Layne a run for his money. Too bad this is your last contest- I think if you do one more you'll get your Pro Card.
Nevertheless, thanks for the kind words. From your posts on this forum I can gather you are a classy with good character. Time is the only obstacle left for that Pro Card. I hope maybe one day to step on stage with you.

Thanks Rav
If I could I would probably keep competing this year but it's really not an option at this point. My wife and 3 daughters need to have their Husband and Father back. I've asked them to give up so much. It's time for me to give some back. I understand this and it's my turn to sacrife and put my dreams on hold for now. I have time and will return to the stage, Layne and I have a plan, : )

That's understandable and the right thing to do. Yeah, this sport is brutal in terms of the personal sacrifices that have to be made in order to compete at a top level. You'll definitely clean house this year (with your fam) and next year!
Having the Pro Card on your mind right now will make drive your motivation, focus, and dedication through the roof! Good luck.
