Hey, gals. I have been reading alot about the keto diet and giving it a try. I was wondering if any other gals have tried it and what kind of results did you achieve? Thanks

I think a few people have tried it; what are your goals, and expectations??

before i started lifting weights, I did keto and it worked very well.
BUT
if you work out, then instead of doing keto, you should do a timed-carb diet. it is similar to keto, except you would eat carbs immediately post-workout, and no carbs(other than veggies) otherwise. this will help you to retain alot of muscle and not get weak in the gym. it worked amazingly for me, i lost several inches all over my body in 1 month, while staying at roughly the same weight.
for more info about it, check out HalleluYAH's thread, carb cycling 101, in the nutrition section.

I'm actually on keto and I do like it. I have less than 20g or carbs each day and maybe 15 g of carbs after my workout. You'll see if you try it, you gotta drink a lot of water because your body won't keep it (no carb, so...)
Also, try to avoid processed food such bacon, pepperoni, ham, jerky beef because of sodium and nitrites.
Feel free to ask.

I am a female bodybuilder, 36yrs old, 5ft 8. I just finished the ketone diet last night after doing it for five days. I do this diet once a month leading up to summer to cut fat built up over winter. This time around I started at 154lbs and am now 147lbs. I do cardio for approximately 40 mins each morning followed by abs. At night I do weights but I do legs on the first night of the diet because by the end of the week it is impossible. Then I do another 30 mins of cardio on the bike. My husband has been bodybuilding/training for over 20 years and he does the diet with me at the same time. We use ketone test strips throughout the diet to watch the levels. I get very light headed by the fourth day and also get nausea. I was only consuming approximately 7grams carbs a day.
My diet for five days -:
breakfast - 1/2 cup of scrambled eggs, turkey sausage and cheese
lunch - 1/2 tuna salad
dinner - 1/2 cups ground beef, salsa, cheese, jalapeno's
desert - 1 cup sugar free/fat free jello when I need something sweet
approximately 8 - 10 cups water per day min
ECA stack taken 3 times a day
my bodyfat is probably around 10% now
