Minimum amount of Protein Needed When Dieting

I know that when bulking you can get muscular gains with less than 1g of protein/lb. of bodyweight (0.75g/lb. works for me). So, when dieting to lose fat, if you are not in a precontest diet, but are instead trying to reach 10% bodyfat at a moderate rate (0.5lb.-to-1lb. loss of fat per week) can you get by on 0.75g of protein/lb. of bodyweight without significant muscle loss?

    Smile protein

well it depends on what you other macronutrient levels are at, like your carbs and protien. If your carbs and fats are low, then you have to boost your protien to steer clear of a catabolic state

    Cheers

You can get by on about .75~.8 g per pound of bodyweight on a cut, but as Mitch said, you need to make sure you bring in enough other nutrients to keep your caloric intake up.
