05-10-2006, 03:05 PM #16* Whey protein concentrate (WPC)
The most basic of the whey proteins, this high-quality complete protein contains some carbohydrates and fats. It can vary from 30-85% protein, although most products today fall within the 70-80% range, depending on the amount of filtering that is performed on the whey. The filtration process typically involves ultrafiltration, diafiltration and, sometimes, microfiltration, which usually leave much of the vital fractions in place.
* Whey protein isolate (WPI)
A purer form of whey protein (90% or higher) than concentrate, because it is processed even further via longer filtering or ion exchange (IE). This makes it a good protein to use when dieting because it has a lower carbohydrate and fat content. However, IE WPI will have lower amounts of glycomacropeptide (the CCK trigger that helps stem appetite).

VS brand Whey Tech is 23 for 5 pounds, not to be a homer or anything. We sell ON for 33 and EAS for 33. It's a concentrate as well
As long as you don't get Ion Exchange Whey, your fine. The IE process heats the protein up and when protein is heated up, the peptides break down and the chains break. Its very hard to absorb that way, basically, Its like riding a bike without a chain, all your doing is going downhillLast edited by The Fallen; 05-12-2006 at 04:01 PM.

That is absolutely the most disgusting thing I have ever tasted. I used to get EAS at Sams and was happy with it, but now that they switched to muscletech I am putting taste>price. I realize this is an old thread, but I don't want anyone to read the above post and suffer through 5lbs of that crap.
