Join this website and make calorie counting easy!!
i have just signed up for free on www.calorie-count.com and its brill. it calculates your exact nutritional intake per day and thus translates this into an exact ratio. saves a lot of time and its all automated, brilliant for us food obsessed types.
eg. i imputed every food i ate (the site has every food imaginable and its nutritional value) and got these results
Fat - 20.4% (59 grams)
Protein - 39.5% (257 grams)
Carbohydrates - 37.8% (245 grams)
Alcohol - 0.0%
Other - 2.2%
Daily Sodium Intake - 2213 mg
Daily Cholesterol Intake - 521 mg
Daily Fiber Intake - 27 grams
Date Calories Grams Fat Carbs Protein
2006-05-08 2596.8 2283.0 59.0 245.2 256.7
I hope you find this helpful
p.s. it even lists WHEY

I just use Kathleen's diet planner. Every single calorie is accounted for and the built in progress tracker is great for staying motivated. You have to register to get full functionality though, but there are ways to get around that.

I tried it. Now 2 things:
You click on a category and guess what, the sub-categories aren\t even listed alphabetically. I dont have the time to search for my veggies in a list of 200 items.
You enter your weight, height etc. It tells you your condition (overweight etc.) accordint to the BMI, which is bull****. Only applies to "normal" ppl.
You go to fitday.com, and it's all there, faster, better and whatever.
Sry, just my opinion.

Another
Another site I find really helpful is www.nutritiondata.com it wont log for you BUT it has EVERYTHING you could imagine, even all the rest./fast foods/Starbucks all of it, it builds you a pyramid, gives you ratios, etc... but fitday is awesome too.

why doesn't fitday let you input how many grams of sugar are in things? its got total carbs, and carbs from fiber, but not carbs from sugar.

Why would you need nutritional info on starbucks or fast food joints? :P hehe

i agree, the alphabetical thing is slightly irritating but i havn't found that many problems with it
plus, BMI is always wrong (slightly more muscle than the average guy and you're overweight, could send a man paranoid), the only true accurate test is using calipers.
Does anyone count their calories regularly? I imagine some of the girls do, not stereotyping but i can imagine it is good for weight control, especialy if you're more restricted to calorie intake.
I was quite surprised at how accurate one can estimate calorie intake without the need of calculation though, i suppose after a while you can understand your body. Nevertheless, i did watch a programme on obese people and this one guy thought he was having 3000 calories a day when in fact he was having 15000. hmmmm how do u explain that??????

15000!!!!! lol Im trying to gain weight and I find it hard to reach anymore than 3500. I can eat more than 3500 cals but then its hard to fit in my cardio because i ger stomach cramps and stuff if i go for a run.

thats nothing, another guy was eating 30000 calories a day, he had to re-morgage his house to pay for it (he was 60 stone, 830 lbs). Obesity is a very complicated thing, almost like an addiction, the body cant stop eating food.
I dont understand how one can eat so much though, as soon as i stop working out, my body has like an internal computer, i eat less cos i dont need it. the body is a strange thing!! also, how can the body take in so much food when its not burning it off, i cant begin to imagine the size of an obese persons stomach!!!!!
