How do you get bigger veins? I have been working out for a while but my veins haven't gotten any bigger. Thanks for your help.

Getting Bigger Veins

they wont get much "bigger", all those pictures you see if people wiwth many veins everywhere, are 1 or a combination of 3 things
1 naturally vascular (some people can show veins in their chest at 20%)
2 tensing every muscle they can
3 Low bodyfat < its usually this one
if you workout consistently and include high reps into your workouts, your vascularity may increase, but low bodyfat is the key
remmeber all those pictures you see if people with a million veins everywhere arent relaxing, they are flexing as much as possible.

the amount of vein "bulge" u have is determined by genetics. However the size is usually based on the amount of muscle tissue u have. The bigger the muscle the more blood u need to move to your muscles, so they in turn get bigger. Also hemo-dialators increase the size of your veins.

As for wanting bigger veins, any professional BB i have seen has big veins so I figure as long as i'm bodybuilding, I should strive for bigger veins along with everything else.

1. Genetics- If you family has a history of big veins, then you will more than likely inherit them as you get older
2. Growth- As you grow your veins should naturally get bigger. This time last year I could barely see mine, and now any time I get even a small pump they bulge out. Even sometimes when I sit around.
3. Muscle growth- As your muscles grow they will push the veins toward the skin giving them the illusion that they are bigger when they actually just spread and flatten out more.
There are also some things you can do to make them stick out more, but only for a short period of time. Hold your breath for a few reps and they will get pumped more, but it is bad for you. It increases blood pressure.5'8
