O/T : How much can you bench press?
How much is everyone benching these days ? Do you think the supplements available to us today make us a stronger generation ?

Why is it a bad question ? And wondering if people think we are a stronger generation because of our access to supplements.

I usually bench 135 to warm up and make my way up to 245 right now.
No doubt, creatine has made my strength sky rocket so I will say yes the supplements of today help contribute to us being stronger.
But knowledge is the real factor that makes our generation stronger. By learning about diet, food, rest, water etc...We can all thank bb.com for the information we gain. Just my two cents.

Big 3 Total is a good START, but even then you'll need people to specify if its raw.... and even then this thread is pointless (but I've seen worse lately)
Remember this is BB.COM not PL.COM

Im surpised this is such an offensive question to some people , I mean wtf...we all lift weights right ? Is it not fun to bench press any more ? I think its inspiring to know how much people like John Lee and others can bench. Definitely makes me want to shoot for higher numbers. And if your not into that , its cool.

it's not offensive to me.. I'd be curious as well, I think we all are curious about bench presses and whatnot, as much as it is politically correct these days to ignore such numbers..
I have not maxed in years myself, but everytime I see someone bench with good form, I'm still fascinated.. I don't think this is a dumb question. It's been asked a million times but it's been asked that many times for a good reason: people care..
I bench in the 365x6 range at my current body weight of 225-232. I'm long at 6'1" and i use a narrower grip than what most people use. In my younger days when I was lighter, I've benched 385 at a bodyweight of 196lbs.

You are a really cool guy John ,a definite silver lining on the sometimes dark cloud of CL. You definitely inspire me to push myself harder.

I benched 355 when I was up to 210lbs. Currently down to 195 and my bench is down to 325-330. Deadlift 500, Squat 450 to parallel.

This is fun as long as we are honest.
My best is 495 at a weight of 177, this was the hight of my pl training. I am now repping around 405 for 5 and 375 for 7 at a weight of 188. But unlike John, I have I have short arms and use a wide grip for heavy bench.

i would like to know this as well.. You obviously have a very powerful base to be able to squat 450 and deadlift 500.
I wonder if it's any specific training style that have yielded those numbers or if it's just year after year of brutal training in the gym..
