Should I try to get big ?

All my life I've been either fat or husky. Husky at my leanest and fat at my heaviest. Loosing weight is always somewhere on my mind. I'll slim down some years but gain it back eventually.

Now I'm wondering if I've been fighting a loosing battle by trying to be thin. Do some people have it in there genetic makeup that there just supposed to be a big person ( Not fat, but big) ?

I've avoided weight lifting for the fear of having to eat more calories to gain muscle. I'm always thinking I need to cut calories.

The question that I'm asking is, could focusing on gaining serious muscle be the best path to reach the potential for my body type ?

    Thanks

My assumption is that your best course of action would be to cut down before focusing on building muscle, but without pictures I can't say for sure.

I'll try to post a pic. I'm new here so I'll have to figure out how to do it.

The pic is from the last time I cut down 3 years ago. Went from 260 to 225. I'm currently 245, so I'm more towards the heavy side.

You aren't going to start packing on a ton of muscle just because you start lifting.

    Post a picture.
