How often do those of u who drink get drunk? Do u think once every two weeks is too much and too often? Do u think binge drinking once a month will have any affect at all on my gains and strength (both short and long term)?
Also as a side note... does anyone know how many cals are in the average beer (not a light beer)
Another quick question....is light beer better for u than a regular beer?
Thanks all replies.

"Importantly for today's discussion, it appears that alcohol use inhibits muscular protein synthesis. In fact, this inhibitory effect of alcohol is most pronounced in fast muscle fibers, especially after prolonged alcohol use.
The scenario would be detrimental for any athlete trying to gain muscle mass and strength through training. "

Ok I just got back from a 3 month hyatus in Australia. I was drunk 3-4 nights per week on average during that time but still ate pretty well and managed to go for a 30 min run every morning.
It didn't disslove my muscle tissue, nor did it give me any sort of gut. Am I a proffessional bodybuilder? No. Do I want to be? No. It all depends on what you plan on doing and what your goals are. That entire trip made me realise that I took myself WAY too seriously before I left and i'm now a lot more relaxed about boozing it up once in a while because I'm always physically active."Don't count the days, make every day count"
