Hi all. I didn't know how to tackle this topic in a way to ensure it is kept civilized So please note I am NOT talking about farting, of which I believe there are more than enough threads!
Not too often but on occassion (around every 2 weeks) I get terrible internal gas. What it feels like is being very bloated inside. It feels almost explosive inside, but never is. Almost like when there is a large amount of gas or extrement going to come out, but doesn't. It subsides after about 5-6 hours but during that time it is very uncomfortable.
Anyone know what this is, what can cause it, and how to treat these symptoms when they arise?

Look into some probiotic yoghurts. Activia does a good one (UK).
The first rule of cheat club is you do not talk about cheat club. The second rule of cheat club is you DO NOT talk about cheat club. Third rule of cheat cub, someone yells stop!, goes limp, taps out, the cheat is over. Fourth rule, one cheat at a time, fellas. Fifth rule, cheats will go on as long as they have to. And the sixth and final rule, if this is your first night at cheat club, you have to cheat.

Thanks melon. Was thinking of adding something like digestive enzymes, maybe will give yogurt a go too.
pickitup - what I was refering to was the fact that the gas doesn't come it. It is not like when you have gas leading to flatulence; rather it stays inside giving a crappy, bloated feeling in the stomach/intestine region.

Well something in your diet is not being digested properly.
Supplements you could take would be proteolytic enzymes (RenewLife's DigestMore is one I take) or acidophilius (non-dairy is best).
Other factors:
* Lactose intolerance can set in later in life. Teens, adulthood... Lactaid is then your friend.
* Meat, especially red meat, often sits undigested in the intestines and, well....rots, causing gas build up. If you eat a lot of meat, make sure you also ingest high levels of fiber. Caution, as psyllium fiber can itself, cause gas. Use another kind.
* Some people have sensitivites to wheat and gluten. If you suspect this, only eat brown rice as a grain for a while and see if the problem is solved.
Lastly, believe it or not, spice up your foods! Cumin, fennel, and others are all carminative and can help with gas.My Transformation:
