true hardgainers question/ anxiety issue.
anybody here absolutetly just cant gain muscle? for like 10 years now, ive been training and just cant gain anything, im still at 160lbs and im now 25 years old. i noticed something very very interesting tough. some of the guys that i know, theyve only started to get big..when they started having girlfriends. When they started having sex/ and gf..somehow they changed. they seem more relaxed...and started to get big.
So my question is for all those who tried for years and simply cant gain any muscle...did/do you have a girlfriend? and how old are you? are you hyper/ suffer from anxiety?

Having a g/f would help with stress for the most part because sex is a stress releiver. But I have never heard of that helping LBM gains.

You have been training for 10 yrs and havent gained anything? WTF? You are obviously doing everything wrong in that case and i suggest to read as many articles on this site as you can.
To grow you must overfeed. That is the most fundemental thing you should know about muscle growth. Find yourself a proper proven workout made by a professional and stick to it. Or even hire a personal trainer to make a workout for yourself.
Stick to compound lifts, they should make up the vast majority of your workout with isolation exercises making a very small portion of your workout.
Seriously educate yourself extensively on this topic and you will find by doing all the little things correctly your will see drastic changes in the amount of growth you experience.
And no, to my knowledge anxiety has nothing to do with muscle growth besides having the sheer determination to get the work done.

That's a great way to get help. Don't post your training regimen, your diet, or lifestyle habits and attempt to initiate a discourse with a goal of pinpointing where you're making mistakes. Just blame it on a lack of sex. Here's a tip: correlation does not equate to causation.

Food is the culprit for your lack of progress, not your love life.

10 years and no results?
1: eat more good quality foods.
2: change your routine up
3: stop drinking alcohole
4: stop staying up late, go to bed at 9 and rise at 6:30
5: stop partying.
6: sex has nothing to do with it.

Sex has nothing to do with it. your friends are getting bigger because most people start to put weight on int heir mid-twenties. Generally you go out less, get more settled, your metabolism slows down as you get older. Most skinny kids you went to school with have put on a fair bit of weight by their mid twenties.
You haven't gained because you haven't trained or eaten properly. As the above posts suggest you must get a decent program and stuff your face with lots of protein and carbs. Even eating rubbish like KFC all the time would be better than working out and not eating.

Studies suggest that an active sex life increases a man's testosterone level.

Why will no one pick it? It’s not “flashy” it doesn’t have a fancy name, nor will most guys ever believe it could be “enough” work after reading “Flex” and the like seeing the “routines of the pro’s”. Well the truth is those damn routines of the “pro’s” work for a select few and most guys reading this are not likely to one of those guys.
Day One:
Dips or Bench Press 2 x 6-8
Incline Press, or incline Fly 2 x 10-12
Military Press, Or Hammer Shoulder Press 2 x 6-8
Tricep (skull crushers) Extensions or Tricep Pushdowns 2 x 10-12
Heavy Abs 3 x 10
Day Two:
Pull-Up 3 sets to failure
Barbell Row 2 x 8
EZ-Bar Or Dumbell Curl 1 x 10
Squats 2 x 10
Deadlifts, or Stiff-Legged Deadlift 1 x 10
Sub-Routine:
Here is another Hardgainer Style Routine done three days a week. TRUE hardgainers will do MUCH better on the two-day, as will many lifters with fairly good recovery.

I concur lack of enough good calories to gain mass. Perhaps maybe lack of proper training consistency.

Why do you think the old stories tell of men who set out on great journeys to impress the gods? Because trying to impress people just isn't worth the time and effort.

Studies also show that men with girlfriends have less time to go to a gym... and die sooner than their "womanless" counterparts. But what the hey, go get you a woman, yee-haw!
Trust me, a lack of female companionship is not holding you back from being the next Mr. O. Diet is where I would start to look... lack of sleep... poor workouts would actually be last thing to look at... well, lack of girlfriend would be the last thing I would look at
