    wats your time for 400 M? and how to improve

    posted in misc but didnt' go too well
    wats ur time for track in 400 m. just had a tourny today got 55.5 secs, 2nd place

    how can i improve this?

    we used to train by running 500s, to increase stamina. Then, scale it down to 80%, and you have the 400m, but with the extra stamina to go hell for leather for the last 100m

    well should i train legs hard for 400? cuz 400 is like an intense sprint but the last 100 meters kills u cuz u cant go 100%

    yea... we run 500s also...

    i used to run a 57 400 the first day of track... but after a week or 2 of running and getting my stamina up, its in the high 55s

    My school has a tread sled and that works your legs intensly... id say strengthing you legs would definately help

    Im aiming for a 53 at the end of the year

    I never was able to break 50s in the 400m, it wasnt my event. The best things is to figure out the best way for you to run your race and not get swepted into running someone elses race. The 400m can really be a mind bending race.

    100m = 10.56
    200m = 21.92
    40yd = 4.24
