Cleared for bicep liftin'
Funny scene at my house over the weekend . . . we had friends over for dinner. I was grilling up burgers, dogs, etc and I also had a nice little stack of buffalo wings grilling for me. Sat down at the table with everyone and had my big plate of wings in front of me with a big bowl of blue cheese dressing, then went to town.
One of the guys said "I thought you were on a diet!!??". I said "I am!" and just kept on pounding wings and dressing. They looked at me like I was nuts.
Gotta love Keto!
What . . . you've never heard of a 30-year bulking phase before??

I love wings, eat them all the time. You just have to watch out when you order them at a restaurant, they might have hidden sugar in the sauce. But when i make them myself = heaven.

Wait....I thought Buffalo Wild Wings was out!
So instead of getting the boneless wings in buffalo sauce, I get wings that aren't fried?
Please tell me I can go to B-Dubs and devour a basket.....tell me I can right now!

I need help with these. I tried baking them once but they turned out kind of gross. And of course adding butter made me feel like ****.
Someday I need to try them again, without letting them get soggy and without butter. Any tips?

I do chicken drumsticks (think REAL big wings) in the oven at 425 for 30-35 minutes. I put them in franks red hot, salt, pepper, garlic powers, and smoked paprika, Let them sit while the oven heats up, and then just throw them in. I use the same method for thighs. This gets the skin nice and crispy using such a high temp. I don't actually put butter on them, i just dip them in crazy amounts of bleu cheese dressing.

I'll have to try this with the thighs. I've been wanting too but every sauce I've seen is very high in carbs where I shop. I guess I'll have to look better.

Also watch out at restaurants because they are most certainly deep fried and calorie ridden! If you do get them at a restaurant and dont care about calories but want to stay in keto, make sure that they are not breaded and that you get hot sauce which is usually just peppers and vinegar, better yet get ur hot sauce on the side, or get them plain and bring your own sauce.
If you want to make your own wings and the weather is nice you can BBQ them and they will be crispy.
No whey!

I use Frank's hot sauce. Delicious!

Fat !
Why are you guys baking them? Wings are meant to be deep-fried!!
.. and the additional fat is good for the ratio's

Bww
BWW does not use a batter so the wings are good to go anytime ... only 1 to 2 grams of carbs per order ...
Just be sure to stick to the hot sauces ... the sweet sauces do have carbs .. the Teriyaki has 7g and Jerk sauce has 12g !

deep frying them turns that stuff into carcinogens at a far faster rate than boiling or baking. plus refined vegetable oil is crappy for you...
just b/c people are eating keto doesn't mean they aren't eating healthy choices too.

Blue cheese, there is no comaprison. Also, using franks hot suace with some butter tossed up and put on a grill and charred up is the best thing next to PB

Next best to using PB on the wings? I know you probably didn't mean that buuuuuut. Am I just a PB fanatic or does that sound good to anyone else?

450 should do the trick, with a finishing off with the broil for crispiness. As for cooking time, I would say about 45 minutes depending on if they are frozen or thawed.

If I was going for "healthy", I wouldnt be eating hot wings in the first place.
True deep-fried wings are a tasty and very low-carb treat ... and they help me forget that I havn't had nachos or french fries in months ! (its a mental thing)

alright so is this correct? place thawed wings on a baking sheet in the oven preheated to 450 for 45 minutes? then I take them out and dunk them in my low carb wing sauce? sound good?

Anyone have the basic Calorie/ Macro breakdown for wings. It has some bones in it so I'd be interested to see if its much different from what I usually use for chicken... 85g 100 calories 1g Carb 2g Fat 19g Protein
It's funny that pirates would go from shore to shore looking for buried treasure when the real treasure was in the friendships they were making along the way.

It's much easier to debone a bunch, then weigh the meat and skin to see what you have.
Fitday is retarded and assumes you eat the bones and everything.
Which reminds me how much of a hassle wings are. Without butter, the protein stacks up against the fat quick.
