    military presses for upper chest

What kind of form should I use on military presses, to hit my upper chest. Should my elbows be together, apart, should I lockout, or go halfway, etc...?

uhhhh, military presses should hit the shoulders, not the upper chest. to hit shoulders keep at a 80-90 degree angle.

Im going to have to say that incline bench would be more sufficient for your upper chest. But as for military press I would say go to 90 or a little below and back up. Dont lock out but just before you would lock out come right back down in a controlled motion.

I'm going to duck after I say this, like I usually do, but if you have a good mind/muscle connection (i.e. coordinated), you can will certain muscles in the chest to carry a good part of the load at a steeper incline than the traditional 15-30%.

    Especially with a smith machine.

Its funny you say that because i find military presses do work the upper chest quite a lot, i suggest a shoulder width grip using full range of motion including lock out. Don't neglect the incline bench tho.

good advice! I find that if I focus on really squeezing the upper chest and picturing it working in my mind, I am able to make it do a lot of the work for high-incline benches
