My MRI discovered a small Posterior labral tear in my left shoulder. i saw an ortho and he did -not- recommend getting any surgery. He told me to start therapy which i have been doing for over a month.
I am dying to get back into the gym and need help starting it back up again.
anyone who had a labral tear, how did u get back into a normal workout again?

that's quite the reserved surgeon if he did not recommend surgery...but then again, they usually will recommend therapy first as surgery can be hell. I went through therapy twice for my shoulders before surgery.
Obviously you have had problems if you had a MRI performed, what were they? Is your shoulder stable? Do you get pain? Can you do heavy pressing?
Continue therapy and slowly mix in pushing/pulling motions depending on how your shoulders feel. If your shoulder is instable, stay away from overhead work for now. Pushups and rows are your friend...
Look up pitching exercises, one for example called throwers 10, lists some nice therapy exercises.

thanks for the reply. its hard to tell now how my shoulder feels. a few months ago i was in a lot of aching/burning pain in my shoulder. i had to use an arm sling for acouple of weeks because it hurt so bad. I had trouble writing in classes because my shoulder would act up.
my shoulder doesnt feel instable, sometimes minor but it is not the normal feeling i once had in my shoulder. I am just afraid to get back into it mentally i guess.
