    Do dips work the chest?

    I am doing normal vertical dips, with no forward lean and I feel my chest tightning.

    Is this normal?

    I though only leaning-forward dips work the chest.

    You use your chest to a degree doing any dip movement. You can emphasise it by thinking about working your chest (serious)

    dips work the lower portion of ur chest and if u lean forward u put more emphasize on the chest rather then on the tris

    x2, I love dips because its a great chest buster and a beginning tricep exercise (I work chest and tris on the same day )

    The more you lean forward while your doing dips the more involved your chest is. If you stay very straight and back the entire time you still use some chest, but its basically all tricep.
