Raiders sign Wilson
The Raiders have signed former Giants safety Gibril Wilson to a 6 yr. deal......Him and Huff and I think we have two of the most athletic safeties in the league!

Not if he's on another team.
I'd prefer they hold on to him, but he could be gone by draft day.

I agree on getting rid of Stu; he's a backup at best and shouldn't be in ANY team's starting lineup.

They also resigned Tom Kelley.
Not only resign him but for a huge amount, 50.5 mill....highest paid DT in the NFL .................wtf?
Looks like there is gonna be no cap room when draft day rolls around.

yea, it seems like they really want to trade Huff...I dont fully understand why. I realize that he is not the superstar everyone expected, but he is still such a young player, why give up on him already?

so he is now the 3rd highest paid safety in the league?
I havent seen him play a whole lot, but I know he is a pretty good player. I do not think he should be paid as the 3rd highest safety in the league.
Troy, Reed, Sanders, the AZ safety (im on vicodin, cant think clearly) are all clearly better than Wilson.
Heck, I think I would be quicker to give Laron Landry that contract than Wilson.

Gibril is a solid player, and good at stopping the run, but not too good at stopping the pass. this dispite playing behind one of the better pass rushing lines in football isn't an elite safty.
I know the safty market this year is very thin, in free agency, and the draft, but the Raiders are overpaying him. 6.5 million a year 16 million guaranteed is crazy. I think that is a better deal then Bob Sanders got who is probably the best safty in the NFL

I'm sure he'll do well. I wish him the best of luck, as long as he's not playing against the Giants..lol
I just can't believe he got so much money.
the Raiders oviously see something in him if they are willing to give him that contract.

He should be great for you against the run. What style defense do the Raiders use? When he was allowed to be aggressive and roam on his own a little, he played great. When Tim Lewis had a read-and-react defense in place, he wasn't so hot.
He flourished in an aggressive defense under Spagnuolo and the run to the Super Bowl drove his price up. He's a solid player, but you guys did overpay for him.
