pre and post workout supplements for women
o.k., I've been doing a lot of research on this, and I've heard so many different things about what you need before and after workouts. Maybe someone can help me out. I'm not bodybuilding, just trying to get some lean muscle mass and tone up. I'm so confused on what to take as far as supplements and my carb and protein intake before and after working out! For example, I read in muscle and fitness hers that you should eat white sugar or white bread immediatly after working out! I don't know, help me out! Should I take certain supplements before and after, and if so, which ones? How about carbs and protein before and after, how much and examples of what I could take? My problem is, sometimes I end up working out late at night, so I don't know what kind of carbs would be best after a workout since I go to bed soon after that. I know whey protein is good, but then I need carbs as well right? Thanks
(I'm 5'2, 118llbs)

They say to have a meal a little before your workout of slow digesting carbs with protein and little fat. And post workout protein and fast digesting carbs (white bread, gatorade, some have a banana).
I however, just drink BCAAs and no longer do a post workout insulin spike (Similar to cut diet). Scivation Xtend is a good product for this, it also helps with recovery!
As for a pre workout supp i take White Blood which gives me great pumps, and it's not a stim so you could take it late at night if you were interested.

Yes, delicious BCAAs i may add. And no carbs or calories. I fill up a 20oz. bottle with 4 scoops, and i sip at it starting 15 mins pre-workout, and finish up the last few sips post workout. This is also supposed to stabilize your insulin levels so you don't have to worry about nutrient timing pre/post workout.

Thanks, i'll have to try that out since I eat a lot of carbs throughout the day and it will help me cut back a little. People always tell me though that I NEED carbs after a workout, so if I just take this BCAA supplement, (which has no carbs), that will be sufficient enough everytime I work out as far a recovery and burning fat? THANKS!
